Disney Moms

Post by Prince Adam »

It was kinda hard for this one (I did a Disney Dads a few months ago), since most of the characters don't have moms.

I'd have to vote for Quasimodo's mom: she risked her life to save his.

What do you think?

Along those lines of what you said, i picked Perdita. I think that in addition to Quasi's mom, Perdita and Bambi's mother also risked their lives for thier children.

Well, Wendy from Peter Pan isn't really a mother, if that's who you've listed.

I would pick Andy's mom from "Toy Story", but I suppose you're just sticking to the Disney animated classics, so I'd say Bambi's mother.

I had to vote for Mrs. Jumbo, she was just as cute as Dumbo...

Yes Luke, she is!
In the sequel Return to NeverLand - Wendy has grown up, and is indeed the mother of Jane and her little brother.

Wendy is an awesome Mom! She can be a best friend to her kids, but can also discipline them. She's amazing!

I voted for Quasi's mother, as a child, I always wondered why Quasimodo did not look like a Gypsie, himself, and upoun either my last viewing of the movie, or the time before that, I reliezed it was probably because she was not his biological mother, more than likely Quasi's true parents abandoned him somewhere to die when they saw how "ugly" he was and the Gypsie woman, took him in as her own...

I thnik this alone makes her an outstanding person/mother, and besides that she did die trying to save him, Bambi's mother may have died saving him, Jumbo/Dumbo's mother was jailed for trying to protect him and so on, but those mother's were defending their flesh and blood, Quasimodo's mother was acting out of pure selfless love, and that is why I believe she is the best mother...

Oh PA, you forgot to include Tarzan's mother, she was a pretty good mother too, actually both of them were, ape and human...

Also if we both voted for Quasi's mother why does she only have 1 vote?

I think all the Moms carry something special to each film. But my top choices would be Bambi's and Quasi's. They added alot of sentimental feeling to the films.

I'm going to say Mrs. Jumbo. That scene with her and Dumbo and the baby of mine song was so touching

I say Timon's Ma, in that short video clip at the Lion King 1 1/2 site she really was a good mom to her son.

Best Mom

Post by Disney Guru »

The best MOM's I think are not in the animated Classics.

The best moms are in the old Live Action Classics.

Here is my list.

Katie Willard From BON VOYAGE!
Vida Follow Me Boys
Cordilia Biddle Happiest Millionaire
And a lot more

Mrs. Jumbo is Disney's sweetest mother ever. She showed so much expression on her face, just like sweet little Dumbo, one of the best Disney movies ever too.

Mrs Jumbo hands down. She didn't care Dumbo was "different", and went on the attack when people made fun of him. She could seriously kick arse too.

And the other mums? What good are they?

Sarifi just bent over and let Scar have his way with her and the rest of the pride, and never even bothered to CHECK FOR A BODY of her only son. What a cold indifference to her son's death, right?

Quasimodo's Mom - c'mon. She dumped him. Or she was planning to. Either way, where was she when the chips were down? Dead. What good is she, huh?

Bambi's Mom - gets shot and leaves Bambi to fend for himself. Inconsiderate. Let him go off with irresponsible rabbits, and didn't even teach Bambi the basics of sex (he had to learn that from a skunk).

Go Mrs. Jumbo. You are truly a super-mum. :D

Of course, Jumbo - the most loving mother of all the Disney films. She just makes me want to go give my own mother a hug.

I like Bambi's mother. I cried the first time I saw it in theatres. It was so sad. And Sarabi was cool. So, those 2 are the best to me. I saw these 2 in theatres and when Bambi's mother got shot, I couldn't cry very loudly, so I held it in. When we came out, I burst into crying! Same as in the lion king, but there is no sad part with Sarabi.
