My Thoughts on "Mickey's Magical Christmas"

Post by musicradio77 »

Let me tell you all about this movie, I've seen this movie once on my VHS tape, and it was horrible. "Mickey's Magical Christmas (Snowed In at the Mouse of House)" was not one of my favorite movies ever made. It has two shorts from that film includes "Pluto's Christmas Tree" and "Mickey's Christmas Carol" and the song "The Best Christmas of All" was one of the worst holiday songs ever made for that movie.

I know that these two short films from that movie which was also appeared on the DVD which is "Classic Holiday Stories" from the "Classic Cartoon Favorites - Vol. 9" which I got at Best Buy today. It has two of the same cartoons from the movie "Mickey's Magical Christmas" (except the opening and closing titles) as well as "The Small One", the only short that was not included in that direct-to-video film.

I have the movie "Mickey's Magical Christmas" on VHS, because I've seen it once, but I can't stand it anymore. I should rather watch a DVD of "Classic Holiday Stories", because it is a lot better than that awful Disney direct-to-video film based on the TV show "Mouse of House". I'll have to avoid this film at all costs.

Any thoughts.

I've got the DVD, and I don't care about the movie itself, all I can say is that I bought the DVD because of the song: "The Best Christmas of All", I really love that song, specially the begining with Belle and Ariel.

I know that, especially with this audio, the quality was not that good, so here it is.

As I said before, I will not be watching "Mickey's Magical Christmas". I've seen once on VHS many years ago, but I'm not going to watch it again. I should rather watch "Classic Holiday Stories", the one that I got yesterday at Best Buy. It has "Pluto's Christmas Tree" and "Mickey's Christmas Carol", the two films are the best except "The Small One" which is still an absolute favorite. I have this one on VHS that I got at a garage sale last summer which was part of "Walt Disney's Mini Classics", but thankfully, I got this one as part of the DVD. I'll show you the screencaps from both films later on.

Here are the screencaps taken from both DVD's, This is between the "Mickey's Magical Christmas" and the version from the "Classic Holiday Stores" DVD. Let's see if you compared to this one. This one was from "Pluto's Christmas Tree"

Is there any way you can get screencaps of the song "The Best Christmas of All"?

I think "The Best Christmas Of All" is a great song! It is the high light of the movie lol.

I just don't like to hear Donald Duck hit the high note at the end! OMG it is so annoyin. Ariel or Belle should have hit that note LOL!

I like the 2nd screenshots much better too.
Much more atmosphere and that classical Disney feeling.

The first ones are clearly "restored", they put the images through some computer and remove all the feeling, just like they did with for example "Beauty and the Beast". Which makes the characters look like they're made of plastic/rubber.

And obviously many people seem to like it that way.

I know that, thanks! I guess that this film was on Toon Disney about 2 hours ago, but I will share some more screencaps from these two films later on to see the difference. I should ignore the Toon Disney watermark.

Perhaps, both "Mickey's Christmas Carol" and "Pluto's Christmas Tree" are those two shorts from that movie, becuase the "Mickey's Magical Christmas" version are restored, and the colors are not corrected, and the whole thing was not that good, on the DVD "Classic Holiday Stories", the two shorts are much better, but the colors and brightness are nicely done.

I prefered the second image in that screencap, but it's a lot, lot better than the recent one. I should aware of the first screencap which was not that good.

And by the way, I updated the post so that the "Mickey's Magical Christmas" version of "Pluto's Christmas Tree" does have the Toon Disney watermark on the left, I should ignore that for the rest of the pic.
