After six hours of reading I've finished The Great Hunt I'm now going to start on The Dragon Reborn. However it turns out, the author Robert Jordan passed away in mid Sept. I find it sad he never got a chance to finish his legacy. R.I.P Robert Jordan
The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in the Wheel of Time series. After I finish this book I'll be back where I started before I started re-reading the series.
A book by Temple Grandin about understanding the way animals think (I'm not sure about the original English title, but in Dutch it's "Denken als de dieren")
Walt Disney, triumph of the American imagination by Neal Gabler
I finished the Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman Trilogy last weekend and am now reading Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and The Diary of Marie Valérie, the favorite daughter of Empress Elizabeth.
Right now (well, not this minute!) I'm reading "Don't Eat This Book" by Morgan Spurlock (the "Super Size Me" guy). So far, so good. I'm just reading it for fun, not for school.
I finished "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" yesterday and it was really, really good. It really put its spell on me and prooved to be afantastic read after some diificulties at the beginning that aren't about how the story develops, but the book is told entirely in present tense which seems awkward but you get used to it.
The story is very different from the "normal" Cinderella story, and there are quite some twists you' never expect and nobody seems who they are or acts totally differently to what is expected.
The main character, Iris, though is not the story teller as is revealed in the end, but sombody else is. And nobody is really evil. More scary than evil.
And then sometimes there are hints at the original fairy-tale and to versions that are not so widely known in the US than in Europe and the other way round.
For everyone who loved "Wicked", "Confessions" is a must.
I know a lot of people that enjoy "Confessions." For admittedly very selfish reasons, I didn't like it as much as I like most Cinderella tales. (There was no character I saw myself in.)
Finsished Secrect of Rundoon, everything fits into Barrie's Peter Pan especialy some of the climaxes *eeks* defintly worth bringing to the big screen, Peter Pan fan did you enjoy Starcatchers???
