Thanks for all your help,guys!

Has anyone played MySims for Wii? Is it fun?

I havea few questions,also.

Which games are available for download using the point cards?

How many and what are the channels on the Wii. What do they do?

There are a lot of great games available for purchase with points on the Wii. If you go to the Shopping channel you can look at all the games available. They are mostly old school games for old systems, games like Donkey Kong, Mario Brothers (many), Sonic the Hedgehog. I actually purchased "Streets of Rage" and was pretty happy with it, I really like that game. When you buy a game it is loaded onto your Wii as one of the channels. You should already have the "Mii" channel where you can created all of your Wii Mii's. You should also have a weather channel where you can check the weather forecast, if you so choose. The "channels" are pretty much different applications, as I understand it.

The Wii has wireless built in. If you need to use a wired connection they sell an adapter for it. I think its around $30. They also have a USB device that you can attach to a Windows XP/Vista PC and play the Wii though your computer. I've heard good and bad things about the USB connector though.

The only channels out right now are Forecast, News, Mii, Photo, Shop, Internet, Everybody Votes, and Metroid Prime 3 Preview. There is supposed to be 2 more channels coming by the end of the year. All of the current channels are either free or come already "installed" on the Wii. However the Internet Channel is no longer free. It costs 500 points now ($5).

There are several good Virtual Console games if you want to try out older games on the Wii. I still haven't downloaded any, and I'm not sure I will. However I have played a few on my friends Wii. The Wii Remote works good for NES games, while the Gamecube controller does fairly well on N64 stuff. There are a few games like Super Mario World that are very hard to play if you don't have a Classic Controller, due to the button layout on the Gamecube controller.

My TV isn't really close to my computer..how could I plug in the cord for the Wii if it's about 50 feet away?

It says I need to have internet access to use the Shop,Weather,Pictures, and News channels. Which means I can't download the vitual console games, without purchasing a cord. Why will the wireless feature not work with my Wii?

Also I can't see the Everybody Votes or Metroid Prime preview...

Can you use Gamecube controllers on the Wii?

Do you have a Wireless Router? If not you want be able to use the Wireless on the Wii unless you get the USB adapter for your computer. With the adapter you don't need a cord at all. If you want a wired connection Nintendo also sells a LAN adapter, and you would have to run a network cord to your Wii.

The Everybody Votes and Metroid Prime Preview channels are available to download from the Wii Shop Channel, under the Wii Ware section. Gamecube controllers work fine with the Wii, but only for Gamecube or Virtual Console games. Smash Bros Brawl will also use the Gamecube controller.

Ok,thanks for your help! I'll be sure to get either USB or LAN ASAP.

With my load of questions,I forget to write about my gaming experience!

Obviously,my parents let me open my Wii early! =]

I only have Wii Sports right now. It's really fun! I LOVE Tennis! I'm kind of bad at it,bit it's still super fun. Boxing is great, too. I like Baseball, but it kinda takes a while to play,as with Golf. Bowling is great, also.

I'd rate them as:

Tennis
Bowling
Boxing
Baseball
Golf

I plan on renting: Cars,Mario Party 8,Metroid Prime 3,MySims,Super Paper Mario, and some other as soon as I can.

I heard a rumor of a Galaxy Preview channel like the Metroid one, but it hasn't been released yet.

I just checked and Super Mario Bros. 3 is on the VC now.

Watching that commercial and the Japan commercials on YouTube I have to say one thing. I'm EXTREMELY excited for Galaxy now. I've always wanted it, but the commercials and gameplay footage I've seen recently have made this easily the must have title for 2007. At least to me... I think Zelda, Metroid, etc... will take a back seat for many now. Galaxy will be the big title for the Wii, well at least until Brawl.

I mean its Mario. Mario games are usually great anyway. However this game looks very good, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Galaxy was on my Christmas wish list, and I think someone was planning to pick it up for me. However I don't know that I can wait that long. I might just have to pick it up on the 12th and scratch it off my wish list.

CNET.com gave Mario Galaxy a 9.5/10 rating. The site says,
The stellar presentation and fantastic level designs combine to make Super Mario Galaxy the Wii's game to beat and one of Mario's greatest adventures yet.

What day does it officially come out? I have been hearing November 12th for the longest time, but now I read at Best Buy.com that it won't be available until the 13th. Does anyone know which is the official release date?

The 12th although I would imagine some stores will not put it out until Tuesday the 13th.

I know Toys R Us says they will have it in by 5pm on the 12th.

I guess I will have to call around to the retailers on Monday and see who is selling it. I really want to get it Monday because I have the day off of school and work. Tuesday is a big day for me, I have to work, go to school, and then take an online test before the night is over. So, I would MUCH rather get it Monday and most likely end up spending the entire day playing it. :)

I would imagine places like Gamestop will have it in Monday, but it wouldn't hurt to call around.

As much as I don't want to, I'm putting off buying Mario Galaxy for a few weeks. My schedule is going to be pretty rough for the next three weeks, so I'm going to just wait and pick it up when I have time to enjoy it. The game looks great from the videos I have seen. My friend played a 10 min demo at Gamestop, and said it was a lot of fun.

Anyway it should be a great game to spend some free time with this Christmas...

Has anyone bought or rented "Mario and Sonic at the Olympics" yet? I was looking at clips from this game online and I thought it looked like a lot of fun. It looks like it would be really great for a lot of people to play at one, but also fun to play by yourself as well. Any thoughts on this game?
