animatronic puppetry in animated format

Post by REINIER »

Hi I recently watched jim henson's (now disney-owned) ''dinosaurs'' tv -show.
And like Alf, this is just one of those shows that, like wine ,gets better every time you see it!

The effort that was put in, in order to achieve this enchanting realm of dinosaurs is to date unequaled!

I still hope for more episodes, but i'm afraid that the show, like the ice age that preceeded it is gone forgood!

I wonder though why since then no one has ever created such an elaborate tv show with use of animatronic puppetry.
Is it just because of the costs, surely in this day an age one could tripple their input by just marketing the stuff on dvd/blue-ray.

Woulden't it be nice to see a combination of the following:
-live action animatronic puppetry
-animation
-stop motion-animation

and blend them all into one good tv show, so good even that it could create it's own fanbase and eventually spawn a movie-franchise??

WHY DISNEY DO WE (YOUR FANS!!!!) ALWAYS HAVE TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS!!!!!

Sure, we don't get paid to assist to your decision making but still don't turn your back on your fans

(please note that all comments placed are not those expressed by a former frustrated walt disney employee or are in any way affiliated to it's current management )
When it comes to brains, I got the lion-share,
but when it comes to bruth strength, I'm afraid I'm at the shallow end of the gene pool

Yeh but "The Dark Crystal" already did some of those things.
