Disney Anniversary

Post by Sulley »

Hakuna Matata! The Lion King is 9 years old today. I just noticed that most of the late eighties - early nineties features received some sort of status that still holds to this day. The Lion King is the highest-grossing animated film of all time, Beauty and the Beast is the most critically acclaimed, and The Little Mermaid seems to be (though not official like the previous two) the most popular animated feature ever created.

Yay Lion King. It really is a great film.

However, I disagree with you on your view of The Little Mermaid. While being pretty popular, I've found that many people prefer Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, and Snow White. But I guess it differs between people! ;)

Well Happy birthday to Simba and all the pride.

Glad that one is finally coming out on DVD this year.

Oh, and Little Mermaid is my favourite at the very least...

I actually do prefer The Little Mermaid over those other films. Along with The Lion King, The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney films. :D

So just rain on my parade! :( ;) :P

Anyways, I agree with you on Lion King, but would definately rank The Little Mermaid above Pinocchio...

Wow, has it already been NINE years?
Seems like it was just in the theatres...oh, I guess it was just in the IMAX theatres, but you all know what I mean.

I guess what I meant about The Little Mermaid is that it seems to have the most popularity as far as merchandising. Disney seems to have put the most of their souvenir efforts (over the past 14 years) in into Mermaid.
