The Lion King's original Simba, Jason Raize, died last week of an apparent suicide in Yass, Australia. He was 28. Raize most recently lent his voice to the character of Denahi from Disney's 2003 animated feature film Brother Bear.
All I can say is it's a crazy messed up world. I never met the guy but he will be sorely missed. He did a wonderful job in Brother Bear, and his rendition of Simba's "Endless Night" is haunting. Plus, from the sound of the article he had a pretty nice life and career going for him. And yet, suicide. And at such a (relatively) young age, too. It's really sad.
ummm...WOW
And no one will probably ever really understand why he felt his life had come to this point. What a shame and an obvious waste of such talent.
It's quite ironic that I read this on the same day Brother Bear opens here in Finland. It'll be hard to watch the film without thinking about this news...
