Post by ValenciaJoe »

I just read this somewhere else, but Disney did confirm that High School Musical 2 will be released on December 11th on both the DVD and Blu-ray formats.

Yes perhaps it could be called the Corbin Blu-Ray disc Edition LOL :P

I can't wait to see all the special effects on Blu Ray-- :P Just what the HSM franchise needs... a High Def version of Zac Effron and the HSM cast.. :P

But I would bet that the Blu Ray will have special features that the DVD does not... Hopefully its just a BD Game...

they should have waited for the remix edition to be on Blu-Ray,
and may be get the wide-screen editions, the concert as an extra (too late for than now),and that way kids would want to buy a new edition of the movie now...did the second DVD of the first one do good???

I almost never buy my movies at Walmart, but that's tempting. I wonder what bonus Best Buy will have (that's where I usually go).

Is The Extended Edition on regular DVD going to be widescreen as I heared awhile back, or is that only for Blu Ray Disc? I hope not. cause that isn't fair to everyone else who can't afford a Blu Ray DVD Player.

O.k. here's some info (finally on the DVD):

http://www.currentfilm.com/dvdreviews9/hsm2dvd.html

first of all it says it's 1.33:1 (BOO!)

however, they at least put some eforts into the bonus features:
-35 minute featurette(holy craparonie! this must be the longest featurette ever given to a DCOM), showing the cast reherse every song in the film.
-Music videos
-Bloopers
-karaoke track
-preview for Phineas and Ferb

The film's runing time is 111 minutes, instead of the original 104 (in germany becuase IMDB didn't have the US version running time  )
so we get an extra 7 minutes of film.

now who wants to guess when the rerelease of the DVD comes out?

I want HSM & HSM 2 in Widescreen, not just for Blu-Ray only.

Here's a review for the Blu-ray disc (it also gives the running times for the bonus features):
www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=566&show=review

For those wondering, the total bonus features runing time is a little bit more than an hour, minus the karaoke track. No extra bonus features are on the Blu-ray, but of course it has better audio and video quality and is in widescreen (instead of fullscreen where you lose 25% of the image).
