New Disney Books

Post by Gurgi30 »

I recently received the new book The Disney Mountains: Imagineering at its Peak. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes Disney books that concentrate on ride development. It has great stories on each mountain along with a ton of pictures. There is also two short stories on mountains that were in development but never produced such as Candy Mountain.

Also, does anybody know when Walt Disney's Legends of Imagineering and the Genesis of the Disney Theme Park will be released? I've been waiting for this book but it keeps getting delayed. Does anyone have any news on it?

Apparently it has been pushed to March 2008 now.

There was a great interview on Jim Hill with the author, Jim Kurtti, about a month ago:

http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/ ... -wait.aspx

"Back when Bruce Gordon and I originally started on this project, it was a much less ambitious book," he explained. "But then Marty Sklar came on board and -- as he reviewed the manuscript -- Marty began offering suggestions like 'You can't mention this Imagineer without first talking about that Imagineer.' So the scope of the book began expanding."

I'm really looking forward to this book too!

Thanks for the reply and the news Loomis.

I haven't been on for a while since I've been in school and intern teaching; loving it. There's a few changes I don't like, too many reviews of non-Disney movies, but it's nice to know the wonderful people are still here.
