Epcot's 25th Anniversary (photo heavy)

Monday, October 1st, was the celebration of Epcot's 25th Anniversary. I arrived at the park at opening with time to obtain some limited event merchandise. The re-dedication ceremony took place at the fountain stage at 10:00. Michael, one of the 2007 ambassadors, kicked things off.

Cast members from Future World and World Showcase were brought up on stage at separate times.

Imagineering ambassador, Marty Sklar, was escorted by two special guests and he had some very profound things to say.

The ceromony concluded with small fireworks and streamers.

A small portion of Innoventions West was converted into an exhibit honoring Epcot's silver anniversary. Here are a few highlights:

Marty Sklar held 3 conversation sessions in the Circle of Life theater in the Land pavilion. No pictures were allowed due to some of the special content he showed us. It was amazing. He talked a lot about Walt and writing his Epcot presentation. He talked mainly about challenges with World Showcase, but it was still very awesome.

Throughout the park in the morning, they were playing old Epcot songs such as "Listen to the Land," "Tomorrow's Child," and the original "One Little Spark." Illuminations had a special add on for the celebration. Unfortunatley, my camera battery died, but it was the loudest and most amount of fireworks I've ever seen in my life. They used the "Tapestry of Nations" parade music. It was an amazing day. I took 130 pictures, so this was just some of the highlights.

I leave you with an image that only cast members got to see:

Very cool- thanks for sharing, Alex!!! :)

It sounds like it was an AMAZING experience!!!

There must be a naked DreamFinder roaming around- I think Figment is using blocks to tell just what happened: "I was going to bring the suit to the dry cleaners in the car, but I didn't want to miss Epcot's 25th anniversary."

Oops! It's Erin Wallace, but on UD I'm so used to the member Aaron Wallace that I used the guy spelling by mistake.

Awesome pics! Makes me a little sad though, as I truly miss the old look, feel, and sound of EPCOT.

I was there! It was great. I managed to get into the first lecture of Marty Sklar. Here is some trivia I remember: guess what other countries were considered for World Showcase? Here are some:

1) Costa Rica
2) Israel
3) Iran
4) Africa (I know this isn't a country, but he listed it with the countries)

I think that was all the other countries he mentioned.

They didn't just play the old music in the morning, they played it in the evening while everyone exited the park.

The closing fireworks really were impressive.
