Basically, The Sultan keeps telling Jasmine how much she looks like her mother, and how he can see her mother's spirit in her.
Her whole story revolves around Jasmine's mother's horse, and how no one can ride him except for her mother. It turns out that Jasmine, through her courage and 'perseverance', can eventaully ride him.
