Seriously, I've been checking it almost daily since it's been up, looking for more information. Hopefully it will be getting an update soon. Perhaps they will include a trailer, and most importantly a RELEASE DATE!!

I agree with you, Simba3- those definitely could use 2-disc sets...!!!

I understand that "The Aristocats" isn't a Platinum title, but I'm on a tight budget these days, and I'd love for there to be a long-ish documentary, so I can really justify double-dipping.

I just put in my Peter Pan DVD just so I could watch the trailer again, I am so excited for a 2-Disc release. I'm really hoping Disney continues this trend. Watching the trailer also got me thinking, I wonder if Disney is planning to do a whole cats and dogs marketing theme for next spring, seeing how both 101 Dalmatians and The Aristocats are going to be having 2-disc releases. As most of you already know, originally there was going to be an Aristocats II direct to DVD sequel coming out in 2007, which is why Disney wanted to capitalize on a re-release of the Aristocats. However, that (as well as some other projects) got scrapped when Disney acquired Pixar. So, this has me thinking perhaps Disney DID need more time to come up the an appropriate amount of bonus features to merit a double disc release for The Aristocats, but also, perhaps they wanted a good way to market the film's re-release as well, since it is not one of Disney's best / most beloved / most remembered classics. Maybe we will see 101 Dalmatians and The Aristocats released around the same time (perhaps even on the same day) to capitalize on a "Dogs and Cats" marketing concept?? We'll see... either way, I am just happy that we are getting three new 2-disc Disney DVD releases next year (even though I already have the Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition).

I bet 101 Dalmatians and The Aristocats will be released on the same day, perhaps with some deals like Buy One Get One Free ect.

Terrific news! I haven't seen that movie in years and I'd love to get a hold of the DVD and re-discover it. Thanks for the heads-up! :D

After much of my own deliberation, I am fairly certain that The Aristocats will only be a single disc release. Though the advertisement on the insert inside of The Jungle Book still says 2-disc DVD, the trailer has been edited. I sat down and watch the trailer that first appeared on the Peter Pan: Platinum Edition, and it advertises a 2-Disc Special Edition DVD. However, the trailer that appears on The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition only advertises a Special Edition DVD, and says nothing about it being two disc. It is the exact same trailer, only, like the Aristocats website, all signs of it being a 2-Disc Special Edition release have been changed to simply say "Special Edition DVD". We'll have to wait a little while to know for sure, but I would say this is a clear indication that we will only see a single disc re-release for The Aristocats next spring.

do you think that if we call and talk to a BVHE rep. they'll give us a clear explanation of whether it is or not?

I won't be shocked if it winds up being one disc.

There was no Aristocats advertisement (insert) in my copy of the Jungle Book. The page appears as lighthouse mike has it scanned except an ad for crayola products is in Cinderella 2's place and Cindy 2 is the Aristocats spot.

Hmmm...do you live in the U.S.? If not, maybe that's why...maybe it won't be released overseas? I really have no clue...but that thought popped into my head. Or maybe the DVD will be released overseas, but not in the spring...?

I live in Canada, and we get the exact some stuff you do at the same time. In fact our whole booklet is pretty much completely different. No new information on anything, just more ads.

That's what my booklet shows in the spot where the Meet the Robinsons, Cindy 2 and Aristocats ads should be.
