OMG I am soooooooooooo happy to see you back lighthousemike! :D

I feel like I've been going insane trying to figure out whether 101D was really coming this spring or not, but this confirms it. The Jungle Book has never really been one of my favorites, but I feel like I'm going to enjoy it a whole lot more when I get this DVD. I don't think I've actually seen this movie for over 10 years! I'm starting to get really excited!

Snow Buddies? Seriously I don't know why Disney spends their time and money on cheese like that. Give us better live action movies.

I can't wait to see Jungle Book again. This was the first movie I've ever seen theatrically when I was a kid. I saw it during one of its early '80s theatrical releases. I think I was 3 or 4. I don't remember much but I do remember Bare Necessities vividly :)

Thanks so much, looks great! Apart from the compression artefacts, guess we'll have to wait for the blu-ray to fix that, eventually..

Does it also have the original mono audiotrack?

Hey Mike, thanks! I have very fond memories of you when you posted the TLM scans last year :D :D

I think the menu backgrounds are gorgeous - especially those with the waterfall and the human village! The film may have its share of reused animation and rough pencil lines but some of the visuals more than make up for it.

hi and youre very welcome
the menus are great
the main menu (just noticed aftr watching a little more) changes bacground and moves through the songs in the movie - if you let it play a little.

Thanks for sharing those pictures with us. I am happy that they will be releasing 101 Dalmatians in 2008 (finally).

I cannot believe they are making another Air Bud sequel (SnowBuddies? You've got to be kidding me!) Nor can I believe they are rereleasing Cinderella II.

One thing I forgot to ask was this: since The Jungle Book's a Lowry restoration, does the film contain new credits at the end? If so, how does it look? Lowry did an excellent job making Bambi and Cinderella's end credits match their openings, but the Peter Pan one felt very detached because they didn't re-use the opening credit backgrounds. Since Jungle Book's credits were placed over moving footage instead of static backgrounds, I'm curious as to what they did.

Lighthousemike comes back with Jungle Book!

Post by Disney Duster »

What can I say, lighthousemike? Very glad to see you back. I must wonder what happened to you when Peter Pan came around. But this time you came with such whopping news of the next two Platinums confirmed. What would we do without you? Wonder and wallow until Spring!

I snuck a peek at your other photos, but daren't look at all of them because there were over a 1,000. But you have such a mature collection. You keep up with what's going on in the world, what other people are going through. How coolsville. I admittedly don't keep up with what's going on outside of my own little world. Your photographs put me to shame.

And, while I'm at it, since who knows when you'll be here again, if that's you in your picture, your very very very cute. Hot. Good-looking. You get the picture. But most of all, adorable.

Does the slipcover have a metallic sheen, like Robin Hood and Peter Pan's recent DVD releases?

hey Lighthousemike!

Thanks for posting those pics. Let me explain something, since the 1990 Walt Disney Pictures logo appeared on all Platinum Edition DVD's, how long will this old logo last?

I'm wondering that since the new logo is now being shown in Disney films, will the new logo will soon to be appearing on next year's Platinum Edition DVD's like "101 Dalmatians" and "Sleeping Beauty"?

Since "The Jungle Book" comes out on DVD next week, I have the VCD copy of the same movie, and it was horrible. I'm trying to get a real copy on DVD if this comes out.
