The Simpsons is, was, and always will be better than Family Guy.
In my opinion, this is just the way I see it, but the Simpsons has more "class".
And another way that The Simpsons way out-shines Family Guy is the characters. Nearly EVERY one of the hundreds of Simpsons characters is awesome, even one-shot characters such as Frank Grimes, Jacques, and especially Hank Scorpio!
Family Guy seems better for a quick cheap laugh, but Simpsons has more substance. That's why I plan to continue buying every Simpsons DVD and probably won't ever buy a Family Guy DVD.
For some strange reason I almost feel insulted when people say they like Family Guy better than The Simpsons.
One thing ticked me off... we (my friends and I) were hanging out at one of my friend's house and were looking for something to watch. I suggested The Simpsons (he owned Season 4) and nearly every one else said Family Guy. It was almost disgusting, especially considering that Season 4 had some fantastic episodes such as "Marge Vs. The Monorail", "Mr. Plow", and "Kamp Krusty".
I do like Family Guy though, just not as much as Simpsons. And they're both far far far ahead of South Park, I hate that show. Oh and Futurama is great too.

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
It's very hard to have an objective discussion with you Lazario. The way you go on about being right, it's like thats all that matters. It's almost like arguing with a child - only you know, you know how to string thoughts and sentences together.
I like Animated comedy shows, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, South Park, King of the Hill, Drawn Together, all have different styles and different aims of the show. If you don't like one - it doesn't mean "FACT - it's a bad show!" - it means "FACT: Lazario doesn't like this show." All these shows are still being made, must mean they still have some form of audience out there whether you like it or not.

Well... it is until either one of us can think of something more important.mikemgmve wrote:The way you go on about being right, it's like that's all that matters.
Well I guess it's "almost" for a reason- because it's not.mikemgmve wrote:It's almost like arguing with a child
I'm not the only one. And you can't pretend that I am, no matter how much you may wish that were true. So... get with the program.mikemgmve wrote:only you know
Um... thank you.mikemgmve wrote:you know how to string thoughts and sentences together.
I didn't say I didn't like the show, I said it was bad. I would know. I know a bad show when I see it. If you can't handle that... well, you could ignore what I say. So... it's your call.mikemgmve wrote:If you don't like one - it doesn't mean "FACT - it's a bad show!" - it means "FACT: Lazario doesn't like this show."
Clever. Well, sort of...mikemgmve wrote:All these shows are still being made, must mean they still have some form of audience out there whether you like it or not.

I sometimes wonder if Seth MacFarlane makes "Family Guy" simply to piss Laz off, or if the Palladinos purposely wrote "Gilmore Girls" the way they did because they knew it'd annoy Laz.

After unnecessarily breaking down a post into tiny tiny segments, I think I will just go ahead and take that advice of yours. I don't think you'll ever speak wiser words.Lazario wrote:So... it's your call.

No, I don't see it that way at all. And I'll bet you don't either. These shows annoy me because of how insulting they are. Maybe people like watching them because the shows make the viewer look so much smarter by comparison than the writers, filmmakers, and any of the characters. But people seem to eat them up, finding them to be almost like equals of a certain kind. They're pandering and condescending. Or just plain stupid. If that's the style nowadays, that still doesn't change the fact that there is very little that is redeeming about completely stupid programs.

I don't, I just like making odd remarks here and there and gauging responses.Lazario wrote:Cute.Escapay wrote:I sometimes wonder if Seth MacFarlane makes "Family Guy" simply to piss Laz off, or if the Palladinos purposely wrote "Gilmore Girls" the way they did because they knew it'd annoy Laz.
