Jungle Book delayed until Oct 23?

Post by Barbossa »

Anybody know if the release of Jungle Book here in Canada (or in the states) is delayed? Is it maybe just at Walmart?

The reason I'm wondering is I was just at Walmart and saw their new release DVD rack. They had the Jungle Book posters and art displaying on it and on a few places where it said coming Oct 2, it was covered up with a handwritten sign with Oct 23. Anybody know what's going on? :?: :? :?:

I would find it kind of strange releasing it the same day as Meet The Robinsons.

maybe someone made a mistake? the 23rd is when MEET THE ROBINSONS is finally debuting on DVD so perhaps........
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I don't think it was a mistake. The Oct 2 date was covered up in about two places with a handwritten Oct 23 note.

We've got a Future Shop here in town and I checked their website for the release date. On there they have Oct 2, but no mention of the steelbook cover exclusive.

That is strange, perhaps it is just Wal-Mart, or your local Wal-Mart. I just saw a commercial on TV today for the first time, which made me really excited, but anyway it said October 2nd, so I don't think it is being pushed back everywhere.

I'm 100% possitive that it was a typo because from I read from the press release that the DVD was going to released on Oct. 2nd. Maybe you should ask one of the workers at your local wal-mart why it was released on 23rd instead of 2nd. They'll tell you that it was a typo and I'm sure that it will not be pushed back.

WTF on the same day? Even if it's confusing, we're not gonna panic. It's true that it's delayed until October 23 with "Meet the Robinsons." But, why MTR & TJB in the same date? WHAT THE HECK?!?

But note that only all Wal-Marts we have in my town, Las Vegas says that TJB coming to DVD October 2, in the same date. Our date is original.

Since the stores are advertising it for Tuesday with plushes and other goodies, I'm sure it will be out on Oct 2nd, not the 23rd. Keyboard layouts being what they are, all it takes is one finger slip to confuse people.

JungleBook Released October 2nd.

JungleBook will be released on October 2nd. Platinum Editions usually street the first week of October, however that is always tenative.

As it is one of my favorites, I thought I would pass this along.

There is an interview with Richard Sherman at the Disney Movie Rewards site. He discuss the music for the JungleBook.

I saw the commercial on Cartoon Network tonight and it said OCTOBER 2nd.

I have never seen THE JUNGLE BOOK, so this is exciting for me. :D

The plushes are the bear (Baloo?) and the monkey/ape. Someone on DVD Talk's forum posted the ad a few days ago and I checked it last night. They also have a better price than Target.

Ok, Walmart did get it in today. Both by itself and with the bonus Walmart exclusive song disc. Don't know what the Oct 23 was all about unless someone in the store got it mixed up with Meet the Robinsons.
