100 things we've learned from Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Post by Big Disney Fan »

A lot of movie-related threads have this, so why not? I'll start:

1.) Roger feels almost no pain... except when you break his heart

2.) Jessica isn't bad; she's just drawn that way

3.) From the smell of Eddie Valiant, you can tell when it's the booze talking

4.) But Teddy Valiant was a sensitive and sober fellow

5.) Weasels and hyenas are cousins

7) wondering why Disney is so afraid of releasing Song of the South when they put the Tar Baby (probably the most controversial topic in SOTS) in Roger Rabbit. Here's a screen cap:
Image

You can see the Tar Baby when Eddie is driving into Toontown for the first time.

8.) When you capture a pair of Toon shoes, and you dip one, the other simply vanishes.

9.) Who says the classic cartoons are a waste of time? Why, they're a veritable survival guide for Toontown.

10.) When confronted with the choice to save your life or perform a gag, a Toon will invariably choose to perform a gag.

11. All cartoon ducks inevitably speak with a speech impediment.

12. Goofy Gymnastics evidentally had a very early prescreening, two full years before its 1949 general release.

Not only that, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote (is that the right way to write it?) and Tinker Bell can be seen, long before their debuts.

Other characters of that above type also include Marvin the Martian, Speedy Gonzales and ESPECIALLY the penguin waiters from "Mary Poppins". Anyway...

13. Film-noir detectives always have one pair of handcuffs that don't have a key. That is SOOOOOOOOOOOO stupid!

14. When attending a club, bar, grill or restaurant staffed by Toons, avoid the use of colloquialisms in your orders. A "Sweet Vermouth on the rocks with a twist" and a "Screwdriver" could prove particularly painful.

15. If you're a Toon, don't laugh too much; it could kill you.

16. Always leave your will where you can find it.

*whistles*

To give credit where credit is due, imdb users Valeen the II, Cel Stacker, and mharrington are the true masterminds behind reasons 1-5, 8-10, and 13-16.

And perhaps to get the rest from the imdb thread (as of 9/16/07) out of the way and encourage more original thinking, here's the rest of the reasons...

Valeen the II:
17. Baby Herman is a perverted dwarf

18. ToonTown currency is in "Zamollians"

mister dailey:
19. Cartoon rabbits can't be alcoholics. It's too dangerous, especially for glass.

20. It's easy to trick them into drinking, however.

21. You can hold your entire bodyweight with "one little piggy".

22. Gorillas are grumpy.

jgiles20:
23. Dumbo works for peanuts (Go figure!).

24. Betty Boop's still got it.

25. Hippopotamuses are actually very polite, if say they bump into you or sit down and with all their weight cause you to fly through the air.

26. Frank Sinatra is still a good singer even when he's playing a cartoon sword.

27. Weasels pay little attention to dental hygiene (all of their teeth were bright yellow).

mharrington:
28. Marvin Acme never misses a night when Jessica performs.

29. Never underestimate the power of a cartoon elevator.

His Roger Rabbit sequel is there as well, verbatim from his UD post.

Anyway, I don't think Valeen the II and Cel Stacker would enjoy seeing their reasons posted here without their credit.

Because this isn't the only place I have an account, you know.

Well, maybe not, but at least they're not making a federal case out of it. Anyway, let's get back on topic before things get rough:

30. Judge Doom is the sole stockholder in Cloverleaf Industries.

31. Harvey also existed before debuting in theaters in 1950.

Oh, boy, my head hurts, because that took me forever to think of those two.

Well, maybe not, but at least they're not complaining.
Do they even KNOW you're taking their lines and posting them here as yours without a citation/credit to them? Just because they don't know doesn't make it okay.

Please, don't. I'm sorry. Didn't you see the non-IMDB things I put up here? I was trying to prove that it's possible to do something original. Why are you being so hasty?

My god, are you SERIOUS? Now you're taking the ones people wrote at UD and posting it as your own on imdb!

Wow, BDF is still a word pirate. Nice!

100 Things We've Learned From the "100 things we've learned from Who Framed Roger Rabbit" Thread -

1. If you post something on UD that is in any way funny, witty, or slightly amusing, BDF will post it as his own on IMDb, and vice versa.

2. Escapay has a never ending list of personalized goofy member quote nicknames. ;)

3. JM has too much time on his hands and absolutely no wit. Think of him as the UD Village Idiot.

Cheers,
