i saw this a few days ago and it made me very sad. I LOVE Jason Lee, so if I even consider seeing this movie it will be for him.
I dont understand why they feel the need to 'update' or 'make things better.' I would be first in line if they looked like the Chipmunks we grew up with but this is something thats def. not on my list of things to see before I die

I don't even think they should have a movie! Gangstars or not...no thanks.

I always look forward to Alvin and the Chipmunks around holidays because they have some sort of special...this will ruin it. :(

Anyway the trailer has appearned online click the link to below to view it.. and brace your self for Alvin eating one of Theadore's "Raisins"... Its horrible... But I may end up seeing it anyway.....in theaters... if it comes the local movie theater... and if it does not.... well there is always Renting it or I could do a blind buy as I liked the Fat Albert Movie a lot.... of course I may be the only one who liked the Fat Albert Movie...

funny, I thought they'd be bigger  guess it's not that unusual since they were like that on their record covers a while back.

I love that the voices are the same and that they sounded good talking but they should have made them bigger, like in the cartoon. And where is Alvin's hat?! I remember saying that when I saw the poster when I went to see a prescreening of Hairspray this past summer. They just look weird to me.

90s child, grew up on the 80s series and the previous movies.

The new movie has already been released in the U.S.? Good grief. I didn't even realize. I guess I might have something new to watch. No Chipettes, right? How depressing.

Alvin And The Chipmunks

Post by Spongebob Squarepants »

Who all is looking forward to the live action Alvin and the Chipmunks? From what I have seen from the latest trailer,it doesn't look too bad as I thought it would.

By the way,it comes out December 14th instead of 2008.

I was wondering why the Alivin movies kinda stoped coming out every halloween *chuckles* so I'm glad the chipmunks are comin to the big screen, but it's weird seeing in actual chipmunk size....

Just saw a commercial for this on TV... Why do they have to make every damn thing "hip"? It's ruining all of mainstream film. I don't want to cuddle or pet a cute animal that goes, "sweeet!" - I want to kick and stomp on it.

C'mon, ease up Laz...........the Chipmunks have always been 'hip'. Even in the 50's when Ross Bagdasarian came up with the unique idea of how to create the sound, The Chipmunks have always been hip and ahead of their time.

Who can forget where it all started with the song "The Witch Doctor" - 'oo-ee-oo-aah-aah, ting tang walla walla bing bang' - that song was the biggest selling novelty record of its time, and still stands in the Top Twenty today. From that little two-minute ditty came Baggy's idea for a trio of animals, not picking Chipmunks at first, that would sing in harmony.

Three years after 'Witch Doctor' came the very first Chipmunk song and it stands today as the most memorable of all their songs - "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" and Alvin, Simon and Theodore were officially born.

Billed as David Seville and The Chipmunks, Bagdasarian released several albums of songs done the 'Chipmunk Way', and that is what this movie is all about. It has nothing to do with being hip, or cute or anything like that. This movie is going to be a telling of the story about getting a record company to buy into a novelty act that nobody can see, just that in the movie they will have three CGI chipmunks portraying Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

I have seen three different trailers for this movie, and I am looking forward to seeing this film when it opens in theaters.

I'm somewhat looking forward to it. But the tv spots I've seen make me sigh and shake my head (especially at the thought of one of the chipmunks taking a shower in the dishwasher and singin' "Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me". )

In the meantime, if some wonderful mod could do some merging...

I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it, but the trailer does have me interested. I probably won't go to the movie theatre to see it. However, I will definitely rent the movie when it comes to dvd.

Saw another commercial. Yep, this movie will be evil and destroy the entire legacy of a lot of great Chipmunks entertainment.

A live-action version of a 60's cartoon? This is exactly what we need!!!

Seriously... why? Why why why?

I'll admit that I'm curious about this, as much as I hate the idea of a computer animated version of one of my favorite cartoons. But really... what's the point of these remakes that keep popping up out of nowhere?

It's either to just make more money for greedy execs. Or it's to obliterate the wonderful memories people could have had if they'd discovered the original incarnations of these cartoons on their own.

Either way, this is definitely very bad. And it shouldn't be happening.
