DL's Grand Calif. Hotel & Spa expands for DVC west coast

Post by dizfan »

The poorly kept secret is no longer a secret:

Disneyland Resort is expanding Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa by 30% and will include the first 50 two bed room villas for the first west coast Disney Vacation Club property.

Expansion includes 200 new hotel rooms and the 50 villas, another pool, rooftop deck to view fireworks, and 300 undergorund parking spaces.

To view the construction site, just hop on the Sun Wheel at DCA. The expansion will be complete in 2009.

Here is the press release:

Nice. Been to WDW a whole lot since joining DVC back in '93, never been to Anaheim. Now if I can just get my wife over her fear of flying...

If you have a Paradise Pier facing view at the Grand, it may very well.

Nah, I plan to be in the GCH itself. Probably shouldn't make a difference. Besides, I'll spend most of my days IN the parks :D

Exactly. If you have a Paradise Pier facing view you will have a view of the construction site.

Oh, I totally misread that. I'm such a doofus. I'll specify the need to have a shiny facing room when booking (which is soon)!
