TIME DISNEY RELEASED MERMAID THE SERIES- LETS TELL THEM!

Post by Disney Live On »

:D :D :D :D :D
Hey everyone.
Now I have no idea if this topic has been posted before but it is time we told the Disney company what we want. Its time for them to release the whole Little Mermaid Series on DVD. Plenty of people have requested for this title, not to mention the Aladdin TV Series, to be released on DVD but nothing has happened. I realized that although it has been discussed in other forums none of us have posted the request on its own in a discussion. So come on lets get together and see if we can make this happen.

It has been proven on more the one occassion that Disney reps check out this site to see what the fans are discussing so lets request in this forum that they finally get this beloved series out on DVD. Its been a long enough wait already. So post your thoughts and maybe even a favourite memory from this beloved series.

For me it is the episode 'Wish upon a Star fish' where Ariel sings Daring to Dance. Her In Harmony song is also a classic.

So lets see if we can make some noise and get noticed. :D :D :D :D

hi there,

I know a site where you can order these dvd's
albeit that they are both taped from disney channel

(link removed by a moderator)

go to cartoon, there you will find the logo's

Be aware that although they state that there are 31 little mermaid episodes over 4 discs
that after three wrongfull deliveries i still have four dvd's with only 15 episodes over 2 discs.
Disc 3 & 4 contain entirely different information, namely
''ewok adventures'' ( lucas animation)

Visually it's not that bad.

Aladdin i'm still waiting for, after ordering it well over two months ago!!!!

Nevertheless you may find this usefull.

I hope I have been some help to you!

I'd be happy if they just had a short featurette with all the voice actors.

So pissed they didnt have one on The Little Mermaid dvd. Argh.

Aladdin's special features were amazing though. Best Platinum release, IMO.

At this rate, I would just be happy with a barebone release like Ducktales, Gummi Bears, etc. Hopefully better video quality though.

It seems like forever that I've been waiting for Aladdin and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh!

I think every Disney Afternoon show should get DVD season/volume set releases. There is a huge market for it.

I would love the series on DVD as well.

Speaking of the series, the pilot (Whale of a Tale) was written by the author of The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle. I spoke to him on the phone once at length, mostly about TLU, but also touched on TLM:WoaT. Knowing his attention to detail, I politely asked him why he had Spot sleeping on the sea floor, something NO whale or dolphin would do. He told me when Disney signed him on, they gave him a general idea and details of the plot and he wrote the script. Disney's writers put Spot sleeping on the sea floor. He contacted Disney about this mistake and Disney told him, "You just write the script, we'll worry about the fan-mail.". For the most part he was happy with how WoaT came out, but being he was hired to write for someone else, it made him feel confined to keep with their style and ideas. Useless information of course, but I felt like sharing.

I was suppost to go meet him at MegaCon a couple of years ago but came down with the flu bad. I stayed home and was depressed about the whole thing because I really wanted to meet him. My friends went without me and one of them brought my DVDs and books I wanted him to sign, as well as a gift (a custom My Little Pony that looks like his unicorn) and told him how I would have liked nothing better then to have met him and was home sick. She gave him my phone number and he called me the next week, we talked for 2 hours. He told me all kinds of cool stuff about his life and works and everything. And he was so nice and had a funny sense of humor.

Okay, time to go into Rally mode...

*A good percentage of UD stands in front of the Disney execs office:

WE WANT MERMAID, LETS GO! WE WANT MERMAID, LETS GO!

No, not really, for me anyway. I recently watched it and I just felt so bad how terribly animated it was and Ariel looked so ugly...plus theres some plot holes in the storyline. Apparently Sebastion already knows about Ariels collection but in the movie he first discovers it when following her and flounder to the grotto. Another thing, Ariel meets a merdude named Archimedes who is a specialist in all things human...but my question is...if she has him that has correct knowledge on human stuff, why does she need to go to the bird brained suttle later on? Also, in the series Ariel has many encounters with Ursula who does some pretty bad things, why in the movie does it seem like nothing has really happened in the past? But it does somewhat seem she doesn't wish to go to her at all when Flotsam and Jetsam approach her GET OUT OF HERE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

While I love the little mermaid I can't really watch the series and enjoy it like I use to as a kid, it does have some interesting storylines and characters and some of the songs aren't too bad. But anyways I guess if you a fan of the show then this is something that should come out...NOW lol.

Wow, Siren, that's really nice that he actually called you, let alone spoke with you for 2 hours.
