If you were a Disney Imagineer, what ride would you make and in which land would you place it ?
I'd make an Aladdin's magic carpet ride, similar to Peter Pan's flight except it would be more roller-coaster oreinted and it would have a magic carpet instead of a pirate ship, with all the main characters having audio-animatronics, and I'd place the ride in Adventureland, coz Fantasyland is already full of dark rides. I really wish Disneyland had more rides based on Aladdin.
For a movie tie-in ride, I would love to see either a ride through (omnimover with super speed tunnel effect or overhead rail) or a simulator involving the solar surfers from Treasure Planet so you could fly around an industrial site and outer space and be attacked by pirates. Also a boat ride based on The Black Cauldron would be fun. It could have a larger scale version of the climax from the Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour.
Although I'd like to see more original rides in the Disney parks.

I imagine this would turn out as something like Mr. Toad's trip into Hell and back.

Yes!!! That'd be great. I think that TBC would make an incredible dark ride.
I think that a dark ride featuring all of Disney's animated classics would be incredible! They'd have to have room and $$$ to add on every couple of years or so, but wouldn't it be great to just go through each animated classic in a ride? I <3 Mickey's Philharmagic because you get to "go into" multiple DACs.
I've always thought that the Yzma's lab scene in "The Emperor's New Groove" or the mine car scene in "Home on the Range" would make great rides. A Princess/Villain dark ride would be great, too.
There used to be a ride in Tokyo Disneyland, actually it's more like a guided tour of the Villans' dungeons, and The Horned king from The Black Cauldron used to make a frightning appearence there. It's the only ride based on The Black cauldron and it was shut down a year or two.
But you know TBC wasn't that popular anyway, but some popular movies like Beauty & the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and the Lion King don't have their own rides, if you don't count Philarmagic.
Yeah I find it funny that they have three versions of the exact same ride...in the same park! If they were all in different parks then yeah it would make sense.
I too also had that Aladdin Ride idea. I would revamp it by making it an indoor and outdoor ride. It would be like that carnival ride where you slide around and it's a combination indoor and outdoor. I dont remember what it was called though and I doubt anyone would know what the heck I am talking about.
I also had an idea for boat ride in Animal Kingdom. It would be an underground cave where dragons exist. The first thing you encounter are real-life Komodo dragons (in protective glass of course). Then you go on a wild Maelstrom style ride where you encounter dragons and their relatives from different parts of the world. Throughout the ride you would see animatronic dragons in the water and on the land but as an added bonus, you would see some dragons flying above you. The last dragon you encounter is a giant fire-breathing Maleficient dragon. Mushu would appear throughout most of the ride as somewhat of a tour guide whether you guys would like it or not. I would find it annoying to but I'm thinking from an Imagineer/Disney World exec's perspective.
I also had an idea for a Greek pavilion in Epcot (replacing that dull Outpost area). The architecture would be all white and there would be a hill where you see a replica of the parthenon at the top. There would also be an indoor/outdoor restaraunt on the hill that provides that flare of the Mediterranean coast and you get a badass view of the World Showcase when you're dining on a hill. There would also be a dark ride where you ride a pegasus through Greek's mythical history. It starts out with an entrance into the lost Temple of Zeus and then you see all of these gods and characters designed and inspired by the film Hercules and the pastoral symphony segment in Fantasia.
Cool Ideas, but you know in Disneyland Paris they have a liar next to the castle where there's a Malefecint dragon, it would be great if they made a Dragon flume ride like that Jurassic Park ride at the Universal Studios.

Please become an Imagineer. I love that idea, and I want to see that at Epcot.

A tour of the beast's castle would be great which takes one to the ballroom where you could see Belle and Beast dancing, and the end fight of course on the roof between Gaston and the Beast as examples for some of the ride's "stations"
I've always wished that I could visit either the Beast's Castle or The Evil Queen's Liar ( Snow White), I've always liked spooky rides, and there's a nice quality of mystique in those 2 settings that ought to be experienced in real life in one of the theme parks.
I've always kind of thought that instead of making Disneyland California based on California, they should have stuck to more of a Disney and Pixar theme. I would have loved for them to make The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King Dark rides. Similar to Fantasyland but the entrance is Beasts Castle since his isn't anywhere.
Anyways if Jeremy88 was a Disney Imagineer:
For The Little Mermaid, I think the idea that they had on the DVD is cool, but I would have changed it a little like in the begining instead of the creepy Dark Shipwreckage area it should start off in the ocean like the main the titles in the movie and you can see the merfolk and Tritons Castle before the ride continues like it does on DVD. Other then that I think the ride would have been pretty neat, but Ariel's grotto should be a little bit longer.
For Beauty and the Beast, it's kind of hard to say what kind of car they would use. I guess maybe like a carriage or something. But anyways it would travel through the key scenes in the movie. I would start off in a little town introducing Belle and Gaston and all those other townfolk, then quickley entering the castle and seeing Belle make a deal with the beast to let her father go. Then right after you enter the be our guest scene and you can spot the the enchanted rose randomly somewhere...since rides tend to mix things up anyways lol. And after that you enter the ball room and see Beast and Belle dancing away. The ride climax should show the angry mob and the household items battling it out and then Beast getting stabbed by Gaston, then quickly after showing Belle watching the Transformation of Beast into the Prince and afterword the again shows everyone watching Belle and prince Adam living happily ever after...lol.
With Aladdin my idea is similar to Jack Skellingtons, I think it would be really neat to have it sort of like a coaster that looks like Carpet and it travel through areas like Agrabah and the Cave of Wonders and showing the Genie in some sort of animatronic or CG appearence along with Aladdin and Abu in a vast area showing all the cool things that appear in Friend like me sequence, either that or the escape from the Lamp Chamber with all the Lava that would be awesome too. And when A whole New World comes up it looks like your flying with Jasmine and Aladdin as they sing notes to A whole New World. And then scene with Jafar and Aladdin for that climax to happen. For this ride to work though as a coaster, it would have to MASSIVE, probably like as big as the Indiana Jones ride, so maybe the coaster would be as fast pace as the car in Indiana Jones.
A ride for The Lion King, I've always kind of pictured it being like a Safari ride I guess, going through memorable areas like Pride Rock and the Elephant Grave Yard while abord some range rover or jeep. Basically along the lines of the story and you can see animatronic versions of the characters featured in the lion king. And you can go through areas seeing a bunch of singing animals and that kinda thing, like in the Can't wait to be King scene. AND escaping the stampede wildebeasts...and seeing mufasa...well DIE! Oh NO! But anyways I don't think this ride would be to complicated to come up with. Just designing different set areas and putting a track and a car lol, and making sure Matthew Brodericks voice is in there heh. A part in the ride similar to Can you feel the Love tonight would be pretty too. And of Course the climax showing Simba battle it out with Scar heh.
Anyways those are just some of my ideas for rides featuring some of my favorite Disney movies...I wanna be a Disney Imagineer!!
Obviously, I'd like to see a HERBIE ride. I say you replace the speedway with Herbie cars. They would all start out with a wheelie and then take people on a wild ride/race.

Actually over here at Disneyland every year they transform the Haunted Mansion into the Nightmare Before Christmas and it looks awesome. It still moves the same but looks completely different. I don't know if they do the same at the Haunted Mansion at WDW though.
