I can't wait for Jungle Book and I can't wait for next week either. It seems like an eternity since I took my daughter to see Meet the Robinsons. Is there a date for Aristocats yet?

Er ... how come Play.com says Meet the Robinsons is in stock? Wasn't it gonna be released late October?

Yes, and in another last minute snafu, the ever so reliable (reliably crap) BVHE UK have moved the Blu-Ray Meet the Robinsons to the 2nd week of November.

So I see it's business as usual at BVHE UK - breaking promises.

Why the hell have they done that? Maybe it's to do with Ratatouille being put back. How very annoying. :x

I have a couple of questions:

1) Does the UK Robin Hood Special Edition have the same widescreen transfer as the US Robin Hood Most Wanted Edition?

2) Will the upcoming UK Jungle Book Special Edition have the same widescreen transfer as the upcoming US Jungle Book Platinum Edition?

Thanks! :)

Well, it's widescreen and it's a new transfer so yes, I think so.

Do we have reason to believe it doesn't?

You can never be sure what nasty surprise BVHE-UK has up its sleeve. I'm sure Mr. David A. Willis agrees, doesn't he?

Well when 'The Jungle Book' and 'The Aristocats' were recently repassed, No note was made of them being widescreen or full frame. Which I mimmediately found odd, becuase usually it specifies one or the other.

Then they're a "family friendly" 1.66:1 - neither full frame or widescreen! The BBFC are confused!

Damn! Now I will have to decide whether to get the deluxe giftset with book or the HMV exclusive with this:
HMV Exclusive Version – Contains An Individually Numbered Film Cell And Collectors Card One of the most popular Disney films ever, The Jungle Book is a song-filled celebration of friendship, fun, and adventure set in a lush and colourful world. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's "Mowgli" stories, Disney's 19th animated masterpiece was the last animated feature that had Walt Disney's personal touch.

Check here for details: http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd ... sku=711767

Also it confirms it will be 1.75:1 widescreen.

EDIT

Amazon.co.uk also has an exclusive.

Four free gift cards. they don't look anywhere near as cool as the HMV exclusive though!

See here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jungle-Book-Gre ... 45&sr=1-14

On seperate news:

The Muppet Show - Season 2 arrives the same day as the Jungle book on November 5th
http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd ... sku=712274

And it appears that virtually every Disney DVD/ film ever made is getting re-released this November in either a double pack or triple pack. I can't be bothered listing them all here. Just search HMV for yourself.

Also
High School Musical 2 arrives on 3rd December

Agreed, just a pity they didn't do it with the Deluxe Edition as well, I may well have to get both and eBay the Standard Edition and keep the exclusive bits

JB box now at HMV...

Check out the price!

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd ... sku=705413

Says "one disc", but I guess it is a typo...picture looks right. May as well order while it is cheap in case they change it...

Also, Amazon have update their alleged JB2 Deluxe to verify that it is the Deluxe Box of the first one:
