Parent trap movies
Just wondering if anyone knows where to purchase all four of the parent trap movies???
The three TV movie sequels aren't available on videocassette or DVD, but the original can be bought at Amazon. It's a 2-disc set.

They keep showing Parent Trap III and PT: Hawaiian Honeymoon on the local Disney Channel (and I keep missing them).
Are they any good? And is II that bad that they can't even show it?
I'm just worried that seeing the sequels (or the remake) will taint my view of the original, which I think is just brilliant. It is so far the only Vault Disney I own (or will own as soon as it arrives...).

the parent trap II did have a VHS release in Europe (i know because i bid on a PAL copy on ebay....to no avail though). i taped 3, and 4 off of the disney channel when they premiered. 3 and 4 were each a two part show. they would show half of the film and the next sunday they aired the second half. pretty fond memories they bring back. i always loved the parent trap movies. the remake is a decent film. i love nancy myers and all her films (father of the bride, i love trouble, what women want) but you really can't judge it against the original. it's totally classic disney. definitely worth getting and watching any of them if you can. it's cool that on the audio commentary to the old parent trap, hayley and the director said something like, "wouldn't it be nice if we could do it all over again?" and the director said, "oh well why don't we just make another picture?" i think disney would be on to something if they got hayley mills back in a disney film and icing on the cake would be the original parent trap director.

I Have seen all 4 through the Disney Channel and didn't care for any of the sequels. Why do it? I loved the remake though, and I heard about a direct to video sequel, but If they don't get Lindsay Lohan to play the twins again, I'm not watching. Because the recasted Inspector Gadget 2 was unwatchable.

And you are saying that would stop him from directing a sequel?meowthew wrote:Unfortunately, the original Parent Trap director, David Swift, died on December 31 of 2001.disneyfella wrote:i think disney would be on to something if they got hayley mills back in a disney film and icing on the cake would be the original parent trap director.
You can't keep a good director down...

I love Parent Trap 2, 3, and 4: Hawiian Honeymoon. They air from time to time on the Family Channel (Canada's version of the Disney channel), and even though I'm a big fan of the original and the remake, the sequels have not "tainted my view"! Disney: PLEASE release them on video and DVD!
