1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 9.9/10 To be Disney's first full movie proyect it was extremely well made.
2. Pinocchio - 9.5/10 For many a failure and for many a masterpiece, to me is Disney's second Masterpiece, the dark and bright colors add a very realistic tone to the film.
3. Fantasia - 6/10 This was probably a masterpiece for Music lovers, I thought the music was good and so the animation, but not a movie that I would watch more than once.
4. Dumbo - 10/10 This was one of Disney's best animal stories, the only one that didn't make fall sleep. Both Dumbo and Mrs. Jumbo were very expressive, there was no need for words.
5. Bambi - 10/10 One of my all time favorite Disney movies, the music always gave me a strange, but pleasent feeling and all the characters are adorable.
6. Saludos Amigos - 9/10 This film wouldn't have been the same without Donald, the scene were he and the llama are crossing the suspention bridge... great movie!
7. The Three Caballeros - 8/10 Donald does it again! Together with Panchito and José Carioca, Donald makes of this film a fantastic journey through South America.
8. Make Mine Music - 9/10 The best musical features in this film are "Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet" The story of two hats falling in love at the department store and "The Whale who wanted to sing at the Met", the dramatic story of an operatic whale.
9. Fun and Fancy Free - 8/10 This film brought together Mickey, in the story of the magic beans, Mickey and the Beanstalk, and Bongo, the story of a circus bear discovering a big adventure in the wild. Not one of my favorite movies, but I enjoyed it.
10. Melody Time - 8/10 Just like Make Mine Music, this feature puts together a big bunch of musical fantasies, my favorites being "Little Toot" and "Blame it on the Samba".
11. The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad - .5/10 I loved this film, I never really had an intention to buy it, but when I did watch it, I loved it, specially the Mr. Toad feature, The Wind in the Willows.
12. Cinderella - 9.5/10 Disney's second Fairy tale is also Disney's 12th masterpiece, full of colors and great characters, Disney again turns a classic fairy tale into an exciting adventure.
13. Alice in Wonderland - 5/10 I always considered this movie to be an insult to the literature classic, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland which is one of my favorite books. The storyline is totally messed up and many events didn't happen in this version.
14. Peter Pan - 6/10 It bores me, I really enjoyed it when I was little but now I find it rather dull and probably one my least favorite Disney Classics.
15. Lady and the Tamp - 9.8/10 This was one of the best Disney films done in the 50s, the animations is great and I love the different events, specially at the beginning when Lady is a cute little pup.
16. Sleeping Beauty - 9.6/10 Another great fairy tale, and Disney's last one. I always loved the three fairies, they gave the dark and sinister story good moments of humor that did not change the tale's suspenseful theme.
17. 101 Dalmatians - 6/10 Boring, I think the movie is pretty overrated since it is absolutely dull, the plot is boring and not much happens throughout the movie, since the whole plot is based on a canine couple searching for their puppies.
18. The Sword in the Stone - 8/10 Not much of a plot just like 101 Dalmatians, but this movie was based on a small plot of education, where a wizard, Merlin is preparing young Arthur to be England's future king. There are different events in which Arthur must use his intelligence in order to scape dangerous situations.
19. The Jungle Book - 6/10 Another pretty boring Disney film, it is sad that Walt devoted the end of his life making this film when he could have worked on something better, like the story of Rapunzel or the legend of The Little Mermaid. The story has a also a week plot, which is based on sending a small human being to the man village, away from the jungle, to keep him safe from the evil tiger, Shere Khan.
20. The Aristocats - 7/10 Another Disney movie with a weak plot, the story is based on a family of cats being kidnapped by an evil butler, with the intention of getting Madame Bonfamille's fortune.
21. Robin Hood - 7/10 Weak plot, once again puts this Disney feature in the list of failures, considered to be one of Disney's worst films, it isn't on my top list either.
22. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - 9.8/10 Although it didn't have a plot, this feature brought all of Winnie the Pooh's best features making it an enjoyable movie.
23. The Rescuers - 10/10 This is Disney's good plot renaissance, for years was the first feature to have a very potential plot, since all the events are connected on making an excellent storyline, all the characters play a mayor role in the film and the villainess, Madame Medusa seems to be a big comical and not really evil at the beginning, but as the film comes to its end, Medusa is kind of showing her truly evil side, betraying all her companions, starting with Mr. Snoops and Brutus and Nero, the crocodiles.
24. The Fox and the Hound - 10/10 Great movie, this was the only Disney movie, besides Bambi that ever made me cry, the plot is a bit weak, but the events are very suspenseful and filled with drama.
25. The Black Cauldron - 9.9/10 A bit dark, but it was another great movie, although the plot was a bit messed up and the characters have no backround, the film was fun and I really enjoyed it.
26. The Great Mouse Detective - 9/10 Another mouse movie in which a misterious crime is to be solved, nothing but another The Rescuers, but the plot wasn't as good even though all the events were really connected.
27. Oliver & Company - 8.5/10 Pretty boring after a while. This conterporanian times movie was about a small kitten living a modern Oliver Twist tale.
28. The Little Mermaid - 8/10
29. The Rescuers Down Under - 3/10
30. Beauty and the Beast - 5/10
31. Aladdin - 6/10
32. The Lion King - 5/10
33. Pocahontas - 5/10
34. The Hunchback of Notre Dame - Haven't Seen Yet
35. Hercules - (-)10/10

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 8.5/10: Some parts in the movie bore me to death (when the dwarfs wash their hands or when they're trying to find whoever got into the house).
Pinocchio - 8/10: The animation is a bit too dark for me but it's overall impressive and detailed. Still, I give it a high 8.
Fantasia - I used to watch it when I was little but haven't ever since so I can't rate it based on that...
Dumbo - 7/10: I'm not too fond of the animation in Dumbo. It looks too simplistic but noone can resist the simple charm this movie has. And the music is also very good.
Bambi - 9/10: Of all the 1940's films, Bambi is the one closest to my heart. The amazingly deatiled animation gives a real feeling of a deep forest. The music, while not too remarkable, serves it right... The characters are also very lovable and the plot, while a bit dragging in the first half, is appealing.
Cinderella - 10/10: In one word - WOW! The animation is the first thing that stands out to me in this film. It's drawn in great detail, the colors are also rich and warm and the whole look of the film is very elegant. The music is also very strong here. The characters - especially the mice, are easy to love.
Alic In Wonderland - 8.5/10: My only problem with Alice is that the plot never concentrates on something but maybe that's the point of it so the hell with it... The animation is dazzling and the music is top-notch. Love it.
Peter Pan - 10/10: I love this movie for the exact same reasons I love Cinderella: The animation is similiar in both of them and the music is wonderful. The character animation here is especially strong.
Lady and the Tramp - 9.5/10: Again, the animation is glossy and I love it. The songs are a notch below those in Peter Pan or Alice but still are helpful in building the plot (Bella Note especially). I love how they drew the suburb where Lady lives: breathtaking!
Sleeping Beauty - 10/10: This film brings back so many childhood memories, we used to rent it over and over and never got tired of it. Needless to say that animation-wise, it's the most brilliant of all the Disney films and the music - (almost) up there with The Little Mermaid's & Beauty and the Beast.
101 Dalmatians - 7.5/10: I'll admit it, upon watching this film for the first time (on video, September 1996), I was disappointed with the animation. It looks sketchy and reminded me too much of that in The Aristocats. Well, guess what? It gets significantly better during the second half... And the scenes in the snow are drawn beautifully.
The Sword In The Stone - 7/10: I never even heard of this film up until its 2000 video release. I bought it and it turned out to be a pretty good film. The animation looks like that in The Aristocats but it's still better. Nothing extraordinary about this film.
The Jungle Book - 9/10: Absolutely perfect! (well, almost). First off, I don't understand why people complain so much about the animation in this film. Yes, there are parts when the background is not very detailed but throughout most of the film, it looks stellar. The waterfalls view in the beginning and other eye-popping shots of the jungle look gorgeous! The music is also top-notch.
The Aristocats - 5/10: My least favorite Disney film. Ugly animation? yep. Annoying characters? indeed. Stupid songs? oh yeah. Dead boring plot? definitely.
Robin Hood - 6.5/10: This film doesn't have a Disney feeling, just like Aristocats doesn't. Fortunately, the animation is better (though not signifacantly) but again, can't compare to the 1950s flicks and the songs suck.
The Fox and the Hound - 8/10: Although this film didn't turn out to be a classic like other Disney films, I think it contains just about every element to become one! First, the plot is very Disney-ish. Secondly, the animation really stands out, when one considers this movie was made between "The Rescuers" (sorry Tangela) and "The Black Cauldron". It's rich, colorful and detailed. The characters are also quite appealing. The music is kinda weak but is still decent.
Oliver & Company - 5/10: See "Aristocats". It's the same thing for me.
The Little Mermaid - 10/10: One of my favorite Disney films ever. Spectacular animation - especially the underwater sequences (main titles in particular). The music is unsuperiorable. Nothing can ever top "Under The Sea" or "Part Of Your World". The score is also perfect. Ursula is the best Disney villainess to grace the screen.
The Rescuers DownUnder - 9/10: I absolutely adore this film! Not only does it look magnificent, it's shot exquisitely! Breathtaking in every sense.
Beauty and the Beast - 10/10: A perfect combination of dazzling animation, great music, lovable characters and a smart plotline. Classic.
Aladdin - 9.5/10: Aladdin is also one of my favorite Disney movies. My only problem is that sometimes it can look breathtaking, sometimes it can look a bit sketchy and rushed (The main titles and the animation in the songs - everything looks like a hot mess).
The Lion King - 10/10: Easily one of my favorite. I love the setting, the characters and the music. The wild beast stampede is one of the finest animated sequences in animation history.
Pocahontas - 9.5/10: Highly underrated and its unfortunate as this is one of the best Disney film of the 90s. The animation is mostly detailed and the music is remarkable.
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - 9.5/10: Another underrated gem from Disney. It boasts some stunning visuals; the music is very un-Disney like but that's fine 'cause it matches the dark tone of the movie.
Hercules - 7/10: I was highly disappointed with this movie when I first watched it. First of all, the animation is NOTHING like Disney has done in the past. It looks like a comics book. Very unimpressive. I'm happy they gave up on this style. The music is quite good I must say. The characters lack any depth.
Mulan - 8.5/10: The best thing about Mulan is the plot. It's fresh and Mulan is more active than any other Disney heroine in the past. Second off, the animation is quite rich and vibrant, if not detailed. I really love the songs, especially Reflection.
Tarzan - 10/10: The first thing you notice about Tarzan is the visulas. They are stellar, like nothing we've seen before. The characters don't burst into song and that's fune with me, because Phil Collins' songs are perfect in the background of the events. Everything works really well in this film.
LOL sorry for the long post, I just couldn't rate the films without detailing my thoughts about them
Pinocchio - 8/10: The animation is a bit too dark for me but it's overall impressive and detailed.

LOL sorry for the long post, I just couldn't rate the films without detailing my thoughts about them
Can I just say, Hercules is all about style. It's perhaps the most visually stunning Disney film ever (bar the obvious CGI work). The characters look flat on purpose. And the animation is stunning. It must be hard to animate such stylish designs sucessfully.Hercules - 7/10: I was highly disappointed with this movie when I first watched it. First of all, the animation is NOTHING like Disney has done in the past. It looks like a comics book. Very unimpressive. I'm happy they gave up on this style. The music is quite good I must say. The characters lack any depth.
As I've said before, I'm obsessed with Meg's kiss curl-thing. And example of how skillfully the Hercules animation is. It's a design that shouldn't animate in 3D, but it does, flawlessly. I love it.

Westley: Do you always begin conversations this way?
Inigo: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.

I'm shocked at the amount of people who haven't seen "The Hunchback Of Notre-Dame" yet! People, you have no idea what an amazing experience you're missing. It features visuals on the same level as The Lion King and Tarzan! The whole picture is painstakingly detailed, and the cathedral (sp?) is simply breathtaking! It's so sad to see half (or more) of you on this thread that have not seen it. Yes, it can get depressing at certain points but so can The Lion King (bad example). And the climax is breathtaking!
Buy the movie or at least rent it, give it a chance!
And 2099Net... Sorry, but I would never see Hercules as nothing but a big ol sketch! How can anyone think of it as visually stunning?
I've seen stylized Disney films (i.e., Sleeping Beauty and Pocahontas) and they are definitely visually stunning but Hercules? Not for me

I doesn't have to do with me not wanting to give it a chance - I just never got around to seeing it. I fell out of interest in Disney films around the time of its original release, and only recently did I recall that I never got around to seeing it. I'm sure there are others who are similar.rodis wrote:I'm shocked at the amount of people who haven't seen "The Hunchback Of Notre-Dame" yet! I'm thinking of actually picking it up blind, with the reduced price-tag this spring.
