brotherbear wrote:Any reason why "Ozwald" will have a gold tin? Will there be less of this set released than any other? Or will it only be available for around 90 days? (Bambi II, anyone?) Honestly, Ozwald is the only one I will be purchasing...I love the B/W Disney cartoons, Silly Symphonies and Rarities far more than Donald/Goofy/Pluto shorts. (I know, blasphemy on this board.. ) Although I might get the Mickey Mouse (b&w) volumes sometime in the future...who knows.

"Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest" (a much more suitable and better name) was only produced for 70 days. And besides, it's Oswald, but oh, who cares!?!??!?!

I'll probably be purchasing the sets, watch them a few times, and put them on my DVD shelf to be unwatched for a few years. Anyway, that gold tin seems kind of stupid. I mean, if the rest of the Wave, and the entire series, is all meltallic/silver, why should Oswald be gold? Makes zero sense to me. I'll most likely get them from Sam's Club. The sets are cheaper (like $19.99) than at Best Buy ($24.99), though I don't know when, like if it's the first week or the week after after all the madness is over.

I'll be picking up all the sets. I'm looking forward to the Disneyland: Secrets, Stories and Magic set the most. I agree with the previous poster, that gold has got to go.

I'll be picking up Donald Volume 3. Maybe the Disneyland set, but Donald is my priority. His shorts are the only ones I enjoy watching.

Well it's interetsing to see that the replica book and button will be included with the Disneyland and Oswald sets in addition to the lithograph. Those were probably the 'keepsakes' originally manufactured for the legacy collection releases.

It would appear the gold is in honour of Oswald's 80th anniversary:

I am astounded that anyone on this board would be saying they are only getting one of the treasures etc.. Considering how people were on the brink of having a nervous breakdown when it looked like this line of DVD's was cancelled and we had pages and pages of discussion re what could be done.

I would have thought everyone would be supporting the line to ensure we do see the next wave. In all probability it will be produced, but I know many, many people here would be devastated if Donald Volume 4 was not issued. Please don't get me wrong, obviously not everyone can afford to buy all 3 DVD's, but if you can afford it, supporting the line will do our bit to help ensure the line is continued next year.

From a purely cosmetic point of view, I much preferred the cover on the previous unreleased Disney Secrets DVD, but I'm not complaining as I have been desperate to get my paws on this DVD!

Well, I am buying all three installments in this wave, just because I have all the other treasures from the previous waves and I intend to keep this series complete.
Off course there are some sets from the treasures that I watch less often than others, but all in all I think the entire series is a great source of information and entertainment!

Ah, was just coming here to see if anyone knew when Amazon was opening up their pre-orders (as I'd seen it wasn't there last week)... guess that answers my question. Orders in :)

I definately plan on getting the treasures. I actually think the gold is good for Oswald. To me it feels like a majestic return for him into the Disney family. I am really looking forward to these sets!

I have been collecting Disney Treasures since the first year (2000) and have all of them save MMC, El Fuego Baca/Swamp Fox, and Hardy Boys.

I will DEFINATELY be getting all three of these! :D

I will also be getting the three sets! I can't wait to get them! The only thing I can't decide right now is if I get them on their release date or if I wait and ask them for Christmas!

At first, I was really surprise with Oswald's gold tin. But now I'm getting used to it. I'll just put it at the end of my Treasures row! ;)

Will buy all - as I've done with all the other "waves" of WDTs.

About Oswald's gold colored tin....

Does it really matter? I don't remember any outcry when the WWII set came out with a camo band.

The artwork looks average, but it could still use a few changes. I will probably get both Donald and Oswald when they come out.

What a question!

Of course I'll get them all - even though I doubt I'll be watching much Oswald this Christmas. But I'm really looking forward to the other two.

My new boss is a Disney fanatic like me. He just got back from Disneyworld with his family and I think I know exactly what I will get him and his family for Christmas: A copy of Disneyland: Secrets, Stories and Magic. Anyone know the shorts found in this tin?

I think it's pretty much legitimate to have Oswald stand out like that. 8)

I'm getting all of them (I might) for this holiday season, if only CD3 will include some bonus material just like CD2. Without bonus materials, it'll become a barebones treasure set.
