OK seriously. Some of the stuff in this thread almost made me pee my pants, especially that perverted Sleeping Beauty story. And akhenaten's mute Ariel proposition was really clever.

So ... my what ifs...

Snow White:

1. What if Snow White fell into the well and drowned?

2. What if the dwarfs had loads of STDs and Snow White got genital herpes or something when she slept in their beds?

Sleeping Beauty:

1. What if King Stephan had beard deficiency syndrome?

The Lion King:

1. What if Simba didn't feel like having kids yet and had Nala use protection?

what if 101 dalmatians were 101 shaggy dogs?

what if snow white was a dwarf and the men were 7 8-footers?

what if pinocchio's long nose had stayed throughout his journey?he could've poked monstro and saved time on burning fuel.

what if vixie liked copper instead? what's to become of todd in the forest?

what if bianca got caught in a mouse trap? would she have lost all her ladylike qualities and become a manic mice instead?

what if bernard can cook?

what if belle was too late to say i love u? would she have married beast anyhow? or open a petting zoo and sell antiques? or maybe a circus?

what if timon was fat and pumbaa was skinny?

what if the glass shoe couldnt support cindy's weight and she broke it and shards of glasses got into her feet and she couldn't stop bleeding and then the clock strikes 12 in front of everyone in the palace?
do you still wait for me Dream Giver?

"Instead of merely a fairy tale, perhaps it was just accepted as a neat story? Or perhaps there was some moral we don't see, because values back then may be different from values we have to day."

Sorry but I never buy the "Who are we to understand their values" statement. If you know people, tyou know history, and you know values you can determine what anything is supposed to mean and I see no moral to a story where a woman is raped in her sleep and bares sons in her sleep. This could never happen in real life so where is the cautionary tale in that?

"For instance, long ago evryone was very Christian and adultery was frowned upon severely by all, but today more people than not accept sex before marriage, it's in movies all the time and is seen as very mainstream and advertised and sex is everywhere and you know, you know."

Yeah but how much of this is the masses adopting this kind of morality on their own and not the entertainment gearing what morality the masses takes on but saying things like "See, everyone does it. It's all okay?" I don't think it can be denied that things appear in entertainment before they become accepted mass morality.

"But I've heard that story as the original Sleeping Beauty many times before in many places, and by people who know their stuff, their history, their research."

I always like to see the reasearch though because way too many cuch people have been caught making things like this up and never proving it to be true. There could have been a version of Sleeping Beauty like this dating from hundreds of years ago but I want to see the proof that this was the accepted mainstream version and not some erotic weird fetish tale some dirty old pervs created.

What if Cinderella was still locked in her room and missed "The Duke", would the slipper fit another "maiden"? Would there still be a happily ever after?

Perhaps, but what if the hag convinced her that it was really spicy enchiladas that makes the menfolks' mouths water?

I think it's an intelligent choice that it was a poisoned apple, because it's like The Evil Witch is the devil, and Snow White is Eve, and the apple is a symbol of temptation known long before creation, so maybe the Grim Brothers were inspired by this story to write Snow White in the first place. Don't know if it makes any sence but I think it makes more scence than a burito, besides the story took place in Germany not Mexico !

No one says it's Germany, she was making a pie (in the Disney Version) so she wouldn't buy a burito.

Yeah that's one reason, but there are also other reasons why a burito couldn't have made it into the story. The time and setting of this movie is in Medieval Europe ( if not in Germany specificlly), and it wouldn't be right if Snow White was a Mexican princess during the Mexican Revolution in which Buritos were first introduced. I know it's a fairytale but it would lose it's charm if everything in the story was random !

Not just that,Snow White is eating a burito? it's make no sense and sounds like a parody it's like Sleeping Beauty eating Pizza.

And yet we can see all that and more when we look on the mercadishing of the princesses line...

besides, taco bell makes burritos...really crappy ones...and yet it isn´t a mexican fastfood restaurant...it's more like quasi-mexican(belive me, I'm mexican and proud of it)

ok...let's just say snowy eating a pineapple instead of a burrito...

I like eating buritos, infact if I had to choose between a poisoned burito and a poisoned apple, it would be the burritos hands down !
But if Snow White liked them too, the Queen wouldn't have a problem about being fairest in the land !

OOOOOOOOOOOOK.....Getting back on topic. I thought of yet another one for Cinderella.

What if...

Lady Tremaine loved Cinderella so much that she ignored and mistreated the stepsisters and Cinderella is now the bitchy, spoiled brat while the stepsisters are not beautiful yet are very sweet, kind and caring?
