Good luck getting Ecclescakes to comment! :D

Mr Bean's Holiday: Why does anyone care? edition

Transfer of the film at somewhat optical audio/visual presentation, but... meh, it doesn't really matter does it? A close approximation to the aspect ratio will do, and well, do we need a 5.1 soundtrack at all?

Special Features

A 1 hour documentary which explains how the hell everybody involved made such a terrible, terrible movie... especially considering how great the first Mr Bean movie, "Bean" was. Documentary ends with everybody apologising.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Good luck getting Ecclescakes to comment! :D
He might be open to it... or is he the kind of actor that doesn't like doing commentaries/press for movies? :?

During the Time Warp scene the screen would convert to 1.85:1, and when Frank-N-Furter appeared the image was to be transformed into full colour. Due to technical difficulties at the time, this was too hard to produce. It is shown here how the director wanted it to be seen. (1.33:1 footage is window boxed).

from the ‘Superheroes’ sequence and audio from The Criminologist were
accidentally struck together. This is a reproduction of how this would
have looked

Thanks, I actually prefer Shock Treatment as well, but I was going to make it a seperate release to the RHPS one, as it was an equal, not a sequel.

1.77:1 Anamorphic Widescreen - Original Aspect Ratio (New Materials)
2.0 Original Stereo (English Mono as Stereo Feature, English Stereo Commentaries)
Feature Subtitles (English)

Main Feature: (approx 150 minutes, 6 episodes)
The Keys of Marinus: The planet Marinus is under threat from the evil Voord. The only hope of stopping them is to recover the keys to a machine known as the Conscience of Marinus, which have been hidden around the planet. The First Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara are forced to search for the keys in a variety of dangerous locations in order to restore order to Marinus. (Text from Wikipedia)

Disc 1 Special Features:

Production Notes (approx 175 mins):
Subtitles with facts about the production of this story.

Restoration Before and After Split Screen comparisons (6 mins):
Footage of scenes before and after the restoration work undertaken for the DVD.

Photo Gallery (10 mins):
Production and publicity photographs from the story.

Doctor Who Annual 1966:
DVD-ROM content of the 1966 Doctor Who annual (the first!) in Adobe PDF format.

Radio Times Listings:
DVD-ROM content of the Radio Times listings and articles about the story in Adobe PDF format.

Disc 2 Special Features:

Creating a World (70 mins):
At the time, The Keys of Marinus was the most ambitious Doctor Who script ever attempted, with the story literally requiring the creation of a whole planet over it's six episodes. Here we discover the story's origins, its production and it's audience reception. Features contributions from the surviving cast, Verity Lambert, the late Terry Nation (via existing footage) and fans.

Cliffhanger! (30 mins):
Doctor Who has always had a tradition of cliffhangers at the end of each episode in order to make the audience want to tune in the following week. This featurette looks at the art of a good cliffhanger before then examining the structure of The Keys of Marinus and comparing it to the old US theatrical "cliffhanger" serials of the 1940s and 50s that it closely resembles.

The Doctor Is Out (20 mins):
The Keys of Marinus has two episodes where the Doctor is not present in order for actor William Hartnell to enjoy a holiday. In the early years of the series, when it was on-air virtually all year round, this narrative trick was frequently used to allow the regular cast short breaks. This featurette looks at all episodes where the Doctor or any of his companions are similarly absent.

A Day in the Life of Yartek Leader of the Alien Voord Mockumentary (10 mins):
Here we have a short comedy documentary following the average day in the life of an alien leader bent on conquest.
