Exactly. I'm actually still bitter about that (while BatB may not be my #1 favorite DAC, it's not that far off. And I REALLY believe it deserved that Oscar and in my heart it recieved it). As a result of that hooplah and of the Academy's snobbiness, I have made it a tradition that when the Oscar's start, I watch BatB. I refuse to watch the Oscars anymore because they are EXTREMELY biased.

Beauty and the Beast is certainly my favorite Disney movie, and in my top 10 all-time. Which is why I'm bummed that I missed the PE when it came out a couple of years ago. How long will I have to wait? 2 or 3 more years for the next B& the B PE to come out?

October 2010 at a guess. A long time to wait for the Blu Ray.

Beauty and the Beast! My all time favorite Disney Animated Movie! :)
NOTHING can replace it, NOTHING! :D

I simply LOVVVEEEEEE, this movie! I could relate to this film in MANY ways. Oh God, we will be here forever lol. When I was a kid I feel in love with The Little Mermaid first because that came out first lol. However, when Beauty and the Beast came out, I felt a connection with the movie because I could relate to the beast in many ways. I mean I still love The Little Mermaid don't get me wrong, but Beauty and the Beast just had the spark to me no other Disney film has! It is just simply truly magical in every shape and form! From the characters to the muic, score, story, etc. I love every second and bit of it! :)
I agree with what ever one has been saying.
My second favorite animated Disney movie of all time is Aladdin. That movie is very magical as well. :)

I hope there's something new, but I hope they keep all the existing stuff too. I'll be getting it on Blu Ray and it would be nice if I could get rid off my original platinum edition. I think Beauty and the Beast was the best of all the platinums, it had a really in-depth documentary which went through all aspects of the production. Don't really see as they need to do that much new, but it will be nice to see it on Blu Ray where they've got room to include all the different versions without compression issues.

Do you need a special tv AND dvd player for blu-ray like HD? Man I wont ever be able to afford the new types of dvd technology.

Well, ideally, you'd watch BluRay on a high-definition widescreen TV, because since you bought the damned system you might as well watch it properly, but no, you don't need a "special" TV.

Let's keep it on topic. :)

I think Belle is the best character ever created in Disney Animation. She's absolutely gorgeous, perfectly animated, and has such a well rounded character, and she's voiced perfectly by Paige O'Hara.

If you check out my MySpace page you can hear Paige O'Hara's version of Beauty and the Beast on my media player.

B&tB is such a magical film from beginning to end. It has one of my favorite soundtracks, and the animation really is top-notch (but when is Disney animation not?). I adore the enchanted objects- they are some of the best Disney sidekicks ever. Chip has to be my favorite enchanted object- he's just soo cute!!!

Who isn't!?

She's like one of the best and most beautiful Disney princesses ever!

I love this movie. It's my favorite. I collect almost everything BATB stuff. :D That story is so magical. Belle is the most beautiful Disney Princess ever. And there is just something about the Beast. 8)
Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.

So what do you think Disney will add to the new Blue-ray Disc when it is released? I hope they give us the ORGINAL movie back  Colors, and all, even the audio mistakes etc. We could only hold our fingers though.

I think Disney will add some more bonus features and hopefully a worthy rendition Music Video lol.

All the elements work so well togehter in this movie. I know that it's a story Walt himself considered adapting, but he coudn't figure out how to do it in the end. I think you can safely say this animated feature is one Walt Disney himself would have been proud of!
