Hi all,
when I first saw the teaser for Tinkerbell, I was sure that it was Loreena Mckennitt singing. So I emailed her website (there's an Ask Loreena section) and I got a reply confirming her involvement with the movie and that she has composed songs for the movie.
Loreena McKennitt is a Candian celtic new age performer, some people might compare her to Enya, though Loreena's music and vocals are far superior. Her biggest US hit was " the Mummer's dance (single version)" which appeared on the soundtrack for Ever After. She was supposed to have been involved with the Lord of the Rings before Enya and Annie Lennox.

I am not a big Celtic music fan but I think Loreena's music is fantastic. She is a superb volcalist. Great pick by Disney.

Wow...when I heard Mummers, I was totally thinking of something else!Tk2 wrote:Her biggest US hit was " the Mummer's dance (single version)" which appeared on the soundtrack for Ever After. She was supposed to have been involved with the Lord of the Rings before Enya and Annie Lennox.

Being from the Philadelphia area, these are the Mummers:

Maybe the old footage in Loreena McKennitt video is what inspired the Philadelphia traditional Mummers?
Anyhow, that was off topic...that's really cool that she did songs for the movie in addition to the trailer. I'm glad that the Tinkerbell Movie didn't suffer the fate of Cinderella III and Aurora's Enchanted Tales episodes since they had very unfitting girly pop music. I really like this style of music and find it suiting for the Tinkerbell movie.
