Hitchcock / Murder, She Wrote at Universal?
I know this isn't about the Disney parks, but this seems like the most appropriate forum, so please forgive me. I haven't been to Universal Orlando in ages, but I recall there being a Hitchcock / Murder, She Wrote attraction of some sort there. We weren't able to visit it either due to time constraints or it being closed (don't quite remember, but I know I was very angry about it). Anyways, I'm wondering if either of these are still standing and open at Universal Orlando (or any other Universal park)? I've searched for the answer online but have only found vague references and conflicting answers, with some sites listing it as open, some listing it as closed, and some not mentioning it at all. Clearly, Universal doesn't have the kind of online fan following that Disney Parks have (and for good reason). I'm hoping some of you who have been earlier can help me.

Yes, in Universal Studios Florida there was a "Murder She Wrote mystery theatre" which has since closed and been replaced by a "Hercules and Xena" attraction of some sort, which has also since closed.
The Alfred Hitchcock attraction was called "the art of making movies" so I assume it was a movie documentary type thing seeing as it has been replaced by Shrek 4D.
So in short, yes, I'm afraid both attractions have closed
Hope this helps!!!

Thanks a lot, Candydog. That's a real shame, especially since Universal attractions aren't archived by fans in the same way that extinct Disney attractions have been. I'm guessing it's not running at the LA park either?

I loved this when I went to Universal way back when. My favorite part was when they couldn't get the them song to stop at the beginning. My Dad was actually selected to be the "murdered" when we went to see the show. If I recall correctly he tried to poison someone and steal a diamond, all part of the show.

Universal Studios in California has a Cabot Cove:

According to IMDB:
"The harbor of Jessica's home town, Cabot Cove, is actually the Jaws lake on the Universal Studios tram tour."
I knew it was there on the tour, I didn't realise it was the working street though!

I went past the Cabot Cove Jaws lake in April of '06 and I thought that the Cabot Cove Jaws lake looked so much smaller in person compared to when you are watching the show. Very cool still, though to see the set in person. When you are on the esculators in the California Universal Studios they play Universal theme songs which is kind of cool. They played Murder, She Wrote, Magnum and Miami Vice while I was on it.
