Hey, has there been any news on this? I really REALLY hope they don't make it. Raven or not, the original was a classic.

I don't really remember this movie, the last time I saw it was...well a long time ago I guess since I can't remember. I think Raven would be a rather poor choice she's rather.....high pitched, it's like she inhales helium between takes or something  But I think her weight would be more of a positive thing, because it's showing that you don't have to be super skinny to be an actress.

Good casting choice, but I'm a bit tired of Disney constantly remaking their live action films of earlier decades. What's next, a remake of The Boatniks? Candleshoe?

i want to see this movie, it sounds good.
Raven's projects usually go down really quick, that just makes me want to see it even more.

i'm glad people stick up for raven, i thought i was alone,
raven's weight is a very tough issue, i agree, i'm not one of those fans who are on denial, but her weight is irelevant to me as it should be to you,
if you're a raven hater you don't even have to post anything, we know you guys exist.

^I'm not a Raven hater, I just find some things rather annoying (but who doesn't have their annoying quirks?). It also doesn't help that Family Channel has a commercial for her show where she's either high pitched or screaming the entire time. So her weight means very little to me, if anything good for her for not crumbling under the pressure to be thin!

People who think Raven-Symoné is "fat" don't know what the word means. She's a very healthy young woman. If the Auschwitz-prisoner look turns you on, you have mental problems.

She's not fat, she's phat. Big difference.

Besides, she's got more than enough money to buy off any of her haters.

well, the first two pics are unrecent, but look at her!!! she might not be a size 2, but she is working it,

and i'm very proud of america, because i can finally see the light at the end of "you must be blond and skinny" tunnel.

but disney channel undid with its butt what it had been doing with it's hand,

now, hanna montana has to put on a wig pretend to be something she's not in order to be succesful in what she's doing, now disney might not have been trying to send that message, but they didn't completely thought about it.

i know , right??? she is still so pretty,
its a shame that she is now not as popular, remember when she was the hottest thing at disney channel??? when supernatural came out, and that's so rave psychic summer, that's when she was the most popular,
i don't wanna sound as the posters before me did, but if she wouldn't have gained weight sshe would be a really big star right now

I'm not sure of how much to believe this news since I found it on Wikipedia, but it was apparently backed up by another article from another website, whose credibility I'm not sure of either.

Anyhow, apparently Miley Cyrus is joining the cast of what's now called Further Adventures in Babysitting. It's being written by Tiffany Paulsen, who wrote Nancy Drew. Miley Cyrus will be playing Chris's friend Brenda (you know, the one who tried to buy a hot dog with a check and thought she found a cuddly kitten at the bus station).

I don't particularly like this casting since Miley Cyrus is so much younger than Raven. Aren't they supposed to be high school seniors?

The article was from way back in April, so I don't know why we haven't heard more about this or why anyone here hasn't brought it up:

i think tis remake could have been a musical,

sort of what they did to hairspray,
but i wouldn't like it because everyone is doing musicals now.

anyway, the miley cyruse co-starring, and tiffany writing, i thought it was a rumor (since i first read it on wikipedia) but it has been there for a very long time, so it might be real

I have no issue with Raven or her size really. But I don't think she should be in a remake (I am very against a remake anyway). Her acting style is very exaggerated and that isn't right for Chris (the lead) and I think she would really ruin any chance of it being a good movie. She is better suited for roles that are crazy and loud, where she can over-act.

Speaking as an 80s kid, I'd hate anyone to remake ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING in the first place. C'mon...Elisabeth Shue was perfect (with great support from Keith Coogan, Anthony Rapp and Maia Brewton as her troublesome charges).

Raven Symone is a very talented young woman, but I can't see her in this kind of material.

Like so many of the great 80s comedies, ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING has a warm and fuzzy feeling running all the way through it. I don't think today's jaded audiences would take to the concept anymore.

Why don't they just release a Special Edition of the original movie instead? (The current DVD is pretty ordinary).
I'm just valentine candy and boxing-gloves!

Exactly. Elisabeth Shue is wonderful. She had that perfect touch of cool older girl and class but you knew you could say hi to her in the hallway and she wouldn't laugh at you. 80's comedies ARE special because when you pop one in to watch they take you back and they don't rely on stupid fart jokes or anything, they seem so genuine. I mean c'mon, what movie today could pull off a THOR joke.

Roswellian,a couple posts above you said you have no problem with Raven's weight. On the first page I think I recall you calling her FAT and saying a rude comment about her chest?

Raven is a great actress. And just because some of you have seen one episode of "That's So Raven" you start harassing her and calling her "untalented". Go watch "For One Night". I'm sorry she isn't anorexic like your other favorite stars.
