Walt Disney Treasures numbering question

Post by Barbossa »

I got my first four Walt Disney Treasures:
Wave 2 - Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio
Wave 3 - The Chronological Donald Volume One
Wave 5 - Disney Rarities
Wave 6 - Your Host Walt Disney

:?: Here are my questions:
How does the numbering system work on these? For instance, Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio, I've got tin #119028 of 125,000. Was there 125,000 produced worldwide or is this in the country of their release? Mine is the Canadian edition, so on the back it says "This product (including its soundtrack) is authorized for sale in Canada only." If 125,000 is the worldwide release, how many were released in Canada?

I'm still contemplating getting:
Wave 4 - The Mickey Mouse Club
Wave 6 - The Hardy Boys
which are still on a shelf in a local store.

The number could refer to the Region it was released in, but I'm not 100% sure about that. As for the Treasures your contemplating on getting GET THEM  I had a lot of chances to get Tomorrowland and a bunch of others, but I never did and now I can't find them anymore :( You might regret it later on, so get them while you can :D

That numbering system is for the US and Canada editions combined. A few of the Treasures are released in Europe and elsewhere without numbers.

Thanks, that clears that up. Any idea how may were in Canada and how many were in the US? Or was it split 50/50?

No 50/50 - I don't know about all the waves, but I think the 2001 releases that came in 150000 copies had a 90/10 split - 1-135000 in the US, 135001-150000 in Canada.
