That was rated R?SpringHeelJack wrote:The first I saw in theatres was "Fahrenheit 9/11", which was an apt choice for me.
And Child's Play is not a goofy movie. God, people. Get it together.

Actually, come to think of it, I believe I was allowed to watch Terminator 2, Top Gun, and maybe one or two others at a younger age as well. The general policy was that if my parents watched the movie first and deemed it okay, then I could watch it, but I rarely asked. I do remember asking to see The Bodyguard and being told no (still haven't seen it).Jungleprince_55 wrote:I saw Terminator 2 when I was 4 or 5
It's not a uniformly awful movie. It's just not worth sitting through for 2 hours. Not even close. In fact, it might be one of those 2 hour 5-10 minute movies. Which is 5-10 minutes worse. And in a lot of ways, it's a quite bad movie. And it was incorrectly marketed as a musical-drama. It's not. It's pure action-thriller. Action-thriller with what is best described as "Cardboard Conflict." Completely flat and lifeless, lacking intensity. The supporting cast also is just sad. Except 1 guy playing a creepy janitor type.Prince Ali wrote:Aaron, don't skip The Bodyguard.
I think there was a PG-13 thread...Princess Stitch wrote:I swear I remember a thread like this from a couple of weeks ago!

I don't really pay attention any more, although I have noticed a few sequels where the original movie was R, and the sequels are PG-13... In my opinion, it completely changes the action or humor of the movie: Scary Movie 1 & 2 compared to 3 & 4, Conan the Barbarian compared to Conan the Destroyer, Die Hard 1-3 compared to DH4, and so on...SpringHeelJack wrote:I just realized this morning that I see like on average two R rated films a year. That's so weird.
Really? I could have sworn it was an R-Rated film. But it looks like all signs point to PG-13. Come to think of it, I think Jerry Maguire was the first R-Rated film I saw in a theater, but I could be wrong.Luke wrote:It also doesn't count because it's a PG-13 film.
