Isn't The Little Mermaid due to be on television???
Isn't The Little Mermaid due to be on television???
So, I seem to remember that after every platinum edition DVD was released, the movie would appear on ABC or Disney Channel a few months later.
Isn't The Little Mermaid long over due for a television airing on either one of these channels????

Maybe Disney Channel will wait a few months to air this to promote TLM III? Maybe they'll air the series at a time when people will actually watch it and then show TLM and TLM II? Just a thought.tsom wrote:Why, thank you. It's a wonderful movie. As a matter of fact, it's my second favorite.xxhplinkxx wrote:tsom, I LOVE your avatar!
I wonder why the movie hasn't aired in the U.S. & it's aired in other places? Hmm...

Yeah, I'm sure many of us would like to see The Little Mermaid on broadcast television with the stupid network bug in the corner and advertising banners cropping up every ten minutes, along with awkwardly placed commercial breaks at the most inopportune times!tsom wrote:Isn't The Little Mermaid long over due for a television airing on either one of these channels????

Ursula: Have we got a deal?
Ariel: If I become human, I'll never be with my father or sisters again.
Ursula: That's right...But - you'll have your man. Life's full of tough choices, innit? Oh - and there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the subject of payment. You can't get something for nothing, you know.
Ariel: But I don't have any -
Ursula: I'm not asking much. Just a token, really, a trifle. You'll never even miss it. What I want from you is...

Yes, unfortunately. It usually appears as soon as a show comes back from commercial break, and goes away after like 15 seconds. On occasion, I've seen it pop up moments before commercial breaks too. Unfortunately, the network bug stays there 24/7 (even on commercials, at least for my CBS affiliate!)Wondy wrote:Do they really have stupid banners across the screen on the main US networks?
On Disney Channel, they have those stupid things pop up intermittently throughout the program.
E! has a continuous scrolling news ticker on the bottom of their programs, with a whole bunch of celebrity "news" and stuff.
What's worse, though, is the really animated ones on channels like FX, Spike, USA, TBS, etc. They've got this whole routine that goes on before the actual announcement comes up, and it frickin' takes up the whole bottom third of the screen.
ITA. But it's their way of doing additional advertising.Wondy wrote:That's a bit of a stupid idea...
When I used to watch General Hospital semi-regularly, there would always be an ad for Oprah around the midpoint of the show, and a few online friends of mine noticed that disturbingly, they almost always seemed to match up to the characters on the screen. For example, if Sonny Corinthos (a mobster) was seen onscreen, and the Oprah episode dealt with mobsters, a banner could read "The Dangerous Lives of Mobsters, next on Oprah". Sometimes they were really hilarious, as one showed Jasper Jax and I think the banner said something about "Best Types of Birth Control".

Glad to see I'm not the only one who deems the Head On commercials sufficient reason to turn off the TV (and my most-watched network runs them more than any other
EDIT: Found this thread in searching. Just now realizing it's weeks old. Sorry to bump with an inane reply... I'm as bad as the Head On commercials.
