"Miracle" was great!

Post by goofystitch »

I just got back from seeing the sneak peek of Disney's new sports film, "Miracle," and it was awsome. It's about a coach (Kurt Russel) trying to mold the U.S Olympic team in 1980 into a family unit so they can beat the Russians. You don't have to be a sports fan to love this movie. Apart from the conflict among the team, the coach also faces trouble at home because he is a workaholic. The acting in this film is amazing. What's even more remarkable is that Disney didn't try to flood the film with big name stars, but hired actors for their talent. The woman who plays Kurt Russel's wife steals every scene she is in and you really feel for her. My eleven year old brother liked the film, but it does seem to be more for teens and adults. There's no crude humor, sexual or drug references, but it's just not something I can see kids getting real into. The cinematography was amazing and I wouldn't be surprised if it's nominated in that catagory for next years Oscar's. They invented a new camera for the ice and it is used real creativeley in a scene where it's zooming through all of this action during a game. That shot alone is worth seeing, but this really is an awsome movie. It will definateley be #1 next weekend when it opens. The sneak peek I attended was sold out! Way to go, Disney.

<-------------- is VERY JEALOUS :(

I am so looking forward to this one. The fact that it's one of the biggest sports stories in our nation's history combined with the fact that it's a Disney Feature make this one of my most anticipated films of 2004.

I was just turning eight when this happened in February of 1980 and I'll never, ever forget it.

I LOVE HOCKEY! I am so much looking forward to this movie. I am going to have to drag someone to watch it with me, mainly because there are not really any big hockey fans here in Arkansas. THey like swine pulling contests here.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I will go see Miracle after all. If you people like it then most likely it's good.

I am so hyped for this film. First of all it's a great story, so it seems hard to screw that up. Second of all it is the best moment in sports history. Third it is arguably one of the top three moments in American history. I pray and hope that this film is a big big hit. I cannot wait until this Friday to see it.

I am also very excited for this film. Up here in MN where the majority of the team and the coach Herb Brooks were from the buzz is huge for this movie. All the local media members who have seen this movie have been raving about it. For those who don't know, Herb brooks passed away in a single car crash last summer in MN and even his family including his widow have nothing but great things to say about this film.

I know it will be a huge hit up here in hockey country and can only hope that it will be close to as popular thoughout the rest of the country.
