Resident Evil 4 is already out on the Wii, not sure what all was changed from the Gamecube version though.Chernabog_Rocks wrote:My uncles bought a Wii recently, it's actually really fun. So far I'm the champion at boxingI can't wait for Resident Evil to come out (unless it has

I'm horrible at boxing. I think I've played boxing on Wii Sports only a few times. Most of the time I bowl or play golf. I wouldn't mind if Nintendo re-released Wii Sports and added online play. Or a "patch" to enable online play.

I am super excited because we finally got a Wii today. Normally I am not much of a gamer, simply because a lot of the games and systems out today seem far too complex for me. I still love old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo pretty well. N64 was too much for me, it could never master playing 3D games very well, I only knew how to play Mario 64 and Goldeneye, both of which were awesome. I got a Nintendo DS for Christmas in 2005 and since I have learned how to play 3D games better. Now I have a Wii and it is the coolest thing ever. Today is my first day with it, so I don't know much outside of Wii Sports, but the Tennis game on there is super fun and has consumed my life. I also really like the bowling. We got the Wii play game with the bonus controller so we are set to go.
Question: Can anyone recommend any good games that are fun to play but aren't too complex for me? Has anyone here played Paper Mario? Is it any good? I really enjoy Super Mario brothers games and I remember seeing a commercial for this one.

I don't know about Super Paper Mario because it hasn't been released where I am but games like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and Elebits are really fun and not complex at all. And maybe you should download a few games from the Wii Shop Channel, there's quite a few old school Nintendo classics, Mario 64 and Paper Mario included.Simba3 wrote:I am super excited because we finally got a Wii today. Super Paper Mario is a great game. Its pretty easy compared to the other Paper Mario titles, and a lot of the RPG elements are not present in Super Paper Mario that were in the others. A lot of it is basic platform gaming in my opinion (you actually jump on enemies, etc... instead of entering a "Final Fantasy" style turn based battle which was used in the other Paper Mario games). However the story, and some other stuff still keeps it a little in the RPG area.
Its a great game and will keep you busy for awhile. I highly recommend it.

Cooking Mama is fun and isn't complicated to play. Super Paper Mario is a great old school style 2d side scroller.Simba3 wrote: Question: Can anyone recommend any good games that are fun to play but aren't too complex for me? Thank you all for your valuable feedback, I really do appreciate it. I am not a technology buff, so I have to take help where I can get it.
That is one of the games I played on my friend's system and it was a lot of fun, I will probably pick that one up!yamiiguy wrote:games like Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
How exactly do you go about doing that? I noticed the Wii Shop but was unsure how to get games. Do you download them, or do you have to purchase them - or both? I see they are marked with points, do you buy points or can you earn points somehow??yamiiguy wrote:maybe you should download a few games from the Wii Shop Channel, there's quite a few old school Nintendo classics, Mario 64 and Paper Mario included

You purchase the games on the Wii Shop channel using points. You can buy points using a credit card, or you can buy point cards in stores. The games are tied to your Wii console, and you can't transfer them to another system. However if you need to delete them from your console you can redownload them again for free, as long as its from the same console.
Most of the downloaded games work fine with a Gamecube controller, but you can also buy a Classic Controller to use as well if you want/need it. The NES games work fine with the Wii Remote as well.
The games are between $5 and $10 depending on what system the games are from.

Thank you very much for all your info. I was browsing through the games last night and I have to say, $5 - $10 dollars for some of those games is really a pretty good deal. The Mario's and Sonic's are all about $8 tops. I'll probably have to purchase some of those, I LOVE old school games.DarthPrime wrote:You purchase the games on the Wii Shop channel using points. I agree, the first few times I played my arm was sore the next day.Simba3 wrote:Ouch! Playing Wii sports can really take a toll on your body!
I'm probably the only one with a Wii that still hasn't downloaded any VC games. There are a few SNES ones I'm going to eventually download.
I hope eventually Secret of Mana is offered on the VC. Its been years since I played that game, and it was always one of my favorite SNES titles.
My first console was the Dreamcast so...PixarFan2006 wrote:How many games have you downloaded so far? My current list of downloaded VC games includes:

Okay techie guys. I am trying to connect my wii to the internet. I get an error code 52220 unable to connect to the server. Support tells me to change my channel on my modem 1 to 11. I am looking at everything on my control panel but cant see how to do this. Any ideas?

There should be a setting in your router that lets you change the wireless channel. I've been using channel 11 on my Buffalo Tech router with no problems.Mr. Toad wrote:Okay techie guys. Which router/modem do you have?
