I hope that this is a markting tool and with Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. still staring and producing I'm sure it is. Since the 60's the 'munks have changed there look for a single thing (mostly albums) and I have a good feeling that this is the same as the covers of things like....

So if they are hip-hop chipmunks, do ya think they will do a Chipmunk rap? Will it be as horrendous as the TMNT Ninja Rap in the live action TMNT2? Is it racist for me to say I hate the Ninja Rap?

As I mentioned in another thread, I just hope that they release the first season of the original show on DVD to help promote the movie. That's the only way I wanna see the Chipmunks, not some CGI hip hop gangsta thugs!

If they are smart at marketting they will. And release the tv show with a free kid ticket or something to help sales as well. Regardless, I won't pay to see this in the theater, it will be a rental. And only because my 8 year old daughter will probably want to see it. I really don't want to.

Honestly, did we really need Garfield I and II to begin with?

So far, there's been Garfield, TMNT, Transformers, and now A&TC - Four 80's/90's cartoon adapted into live action/CGI films. All have sucked (assuming this will, too) but one, and it's the one that went outside the kiddie demographic (Not that the Turtles or Alvin are going to start blowing crap up in PG-13 level violence any time soon). I guess what I'm trying to say is -

STOP MAKING THESE MOVIES. M'KAY?
