i bought it at Wal-Mart for $39.99. this was before i was worried about collections, i just loved the movie and wanted the best version available. it was one of those, "oh i love this movie i didn't know it was on dvd" kind of moments and thank God i got it, because the price went up the next week and now it's gone for good. i dunno about this whole platinum release. if it is the same or less stuff on this release i don't think i'll get it, but then again....i'll have every platinum release EXCEPT fantasia. maybe it would be worth it to finish the set even if i don't really want the dvd....

well, i am guessing that what could be added to the platinum version would be the new short that Roy just finished. Destino (I belive it is called).

Maybe they are talking about Fantasia 2006 being the platinum. Then they definately could put the short, along with the promised commentary, on that!

No, they certainly mean Fantasia.

France already has a 2 disc Fantasia release (as well as single discs and the Anthology - which like the UK is missing features)

The second disc seems to consist of the Fantasia segment of the Anthology third disc. I expect the Platinum R1 Fantasia release to be similar - but I also expect them to put a few little additional extras on, but it would be hard to see what they could include? They could just pad it out with some of the more musical based Silly Symphony shorts. I doubt that they will be able to dig up anything significant... but you never know!

I'd like them to include the cutdown, non-Roadshow version of the film on the first disc via seemless branching - just to see what it's like.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

So jabroni76, what'd you think of the Fantasia Anthology?
I love kicking back and watching these every once in awhile after a stressful day. Rhapsody in Blue always picks me up.

BTW, I paid less than $15 for mine from Buy.com back in 2000. Had some sort of coupon or gift certificate I used.

Fifteen Dollars? You lucky duck, but you used a cupon! :P. Anyways, very nice deal!

And me, I LOVE the anthology. Most people think I wouldn't watch all the features, but I showed them wrong now did I! :P. It really is great! I reccomend it to EVERYONE who doesn't all ready own it!
