Awwww, now you know that's never going to happen.
The Dumbo sequel was shelved. The idea was given up on and it was never made. It won't be appearing for a long time, if ever.
I am not against sequals in general just a few of them I feel are uneccessary. And the Dumbo sequal I really felt was just pushing it. So through al the maddness I am glad there is something to be happy out( No offense to those who may have ben looking forward to it)

Citing a "changing creative climate and economic environment," the Walt Disney Co. announced back in July that it will shut down DisneyToon Studios Australia in Sydney next year. The animation studio is one of the few still churning out hand-drawn animated features -- mostly for television and DVD. It was expected that the studio will shift outsourcing for its hand-drawn projects to Asian companies with which it is already doing business, including Cuckoos Nest Studio in Taipei, Studio Fuga in Tokyo and Toon City Animation in Manila. Disney reportedly expects savings in the neighborhood of $40-50 million a year.
This cannot be! Disney Toon Studios was working on Cinderella III, due out in 2007. So How can they shut down before they finish it?! Unless they're planning on finishing it in the outsources! I was hoping Cinderella III would be a good sequel to make up for the poor sequel Cinderella II. But the outsources will probably make the sequels even cheaper than they are now. I really hope that this nightmare news doesn't come true. It will not end the sequels, just make them crappier.
I'm pretty sure they already announced this a few months ago, unless that was simply speculation and now they're making it official.
As for Cindy 3...perhaps it'll be the last project for DisneyToon Studios in Sydney, then they shut down.
Maybe if Disney were making better movies (or stop comparing take-ins at the box office to The Lion King), they wouldn't have to keep shutting down their animation studios.

I hope "Cinderella 3" will be the last made-to-video movie until the DisneyToon Studios shuts down for good. Will see if the third installment comes out in two years. The first movie released theatrically was "Return to Neverland". It was animated by DisneyToon Studios in Sydney, Austrailia.
DisneyToon Studios will now be making home entertainment for Playhouse Disney properties, and, according to this Jim Hill Media article, the Princess Enchanted Tales line will only have one volume- the one with Jasmine and Aurora. It won't be a series. In my opinion, there's already a Belle featurette, and maybe a second Aurora.
Personally, I like the sequels. I never liked John Lasseter being in charge of Disney.

to me, this is a cause for celebration. The DTV sequels were among the worst things to ever come out of Disney. And I for one, am glad they will be gone for good. It cheapened Disney, the brand name, the traditional animtion department. It cheapened everything.
it was the money that came from these films that caused all the greed and the redicolous decisions that ultimately led to letting go numerous people that had more talent in one finger than the moronic executives that were calling the shots.
Lasseter is amazing. As an artist myself I can only support his continuing efforts to clean the company of "creative executives" and restore the creative environment that was slowly dieing.

How is using this stuff for Playhouse Disney less cheap than DTVs? If anything, this is actually MUCH MORE cheaper and more damaging Disney's property.
And I wouldn't go as far as say the money from DTVs hurt Disney. The fab four's profit arguably did more damage as it led to garbage like Pocahontas and The Hunchback.

How's that possible when Pocohantas and Lion King were being made around same year.

I would have to disagree. John Lasseter has salvaged the only good parts left of Disney. He redeemed the feature animation department with Meet the Robinsons after the dreadfully terrible Chicken Little. He got rid of the cheapquel process which not only killed the name of Disney but also killed all creativity the studio had left in it. He also sucessfully helped dub all the Ghibli films in a way Miyazaki is proud of. Lasateer is the best man for the job at Disney.
Best Movies of 2009:

2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo
If there is a good story behind a character (something Lasseter and Catmull have helped keep alive at PIXAR), I have no problem with Disney making a new story based on an existing character.
Cinderella III worked, despite a low budget and short (compared to PIXAR) production time because the story and character interaction were good. So, if another interesting story can shine a bit more light into Cindy's universe, why not do another short story, or even a sequel?
Then again, there are certain limitations to sequels. You can't morph a characters TOO much or they are no longer what they were. Some TV series faced that problem: they ran out of stories to tell, and the characters couldn't show any new aspects of their character.
Could even Disney pull off "TransformerElla" (Cindy as cyborg), or "MillionDollarAriel" (Ariel as underdog Prize fighter, or "TimeBanditBeauty" (Aurora as time travelling heroine), or (your idea here) ?

You mean you haven't heard the story that Katzenberg loved the idea of almost being involved in the first animated Best Picture winner, he made "improvements" in Pocahontas that turned what was an interesting concept to the train wreck it is?

I did hear that however I wouldn't think that had to be the reason to your previous comment.
