As many of you know I am a big supporter of Disney's live action films and a hater of those that sweep them aside seeing them as inferior to the animation (curses under breath).
But for those of you like me who appreciate the value of them it may interest you that there is a Disney live action film festival in Santa Monica. And it's nice to see that there are some gems that don't often get the recognition they deserve, most notably 'That Darn Cat' and 'The Three Lives of Thomasina'.
All programs start at 7:30 p.m. unless noted.
July 11: "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier"
July 12: "The Absent Minded Professor," "The Parent Trap"
July 13: "Escape to Witch Mountain," "Freaky Friday"
July 14: "Mary Poppins," 3 p.m.; "Swiss Family Robinson," "Treasure Island"
