Television commercials you are sick of?!

Post by MadonnasManOne »

I have decided to make a thread about commercials you are tired of seeing on the television. I'm curious to see how many of us are tired of the same freaking commercials!

I'll start. The commercial I am MOST tired of seeing on television, right now, is the commercial for Celebrex. It lasts for at least two minutes. It's the Celebrex commercial with the blue background, and all of the words making up images of different aspects of life. The voice of the lady, combined with the background music, and all of the clinical study talk, makes me want to pull out my hair! I hate it!!! LOL.

What commercials make you want to pull your hair out?

those television ad commercials waste space along with commercials that take up the whole space and when you see to many of those overseen movie commercials. for some reason they never show game commercials for non-movie games much anymore. the last time i saw one of those was for Final Fantasy X-2 during christmas of 2003, Kingdom Hearts COM in spring 2004 and a one-time commercial for Kingdom Hearts 2 a couple days after it came out in 2005. the only other original games i see are for nintendo but they're all sequels mostly and those junky PS3 commercial launch titles. when are we going to get those good old commercials from the 90's back?

I'm growing tired of the Geico Caveman ones, and the recent Burger King Western Whopper one.

That Burger King mascot is really freaky looking. I don't like him at all.

HEAD ON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD!!!! - 'nuff said
(and check out the NBC Report about it!)

They're gonna taste great! - this actually doesn't air in the US, but I know that ichabod is SICK of this commercial

Life Takes Visa - I actually like the music, but the commercial gets annoying if watched too many times.

DITTO! The worst thing is that they KNOW how obnoxious their commercials are, yet they continue with them anyway.

Well isn't it Carl Stalling?

Edit: I'm wrong but it's still very well known in Looney Tunes Cartoons.

I tend to avoid the problem altogether - I hardly ever watch television anymore.

There are a few that I hate:

Head-On- The commercials get worse and worse every time.

Enztye Smiling Bob- These commercials are really annoying as well. I doubt that taking Enzyte would really make him smile a lot.

Burger King- I am sick of that stupid king, but it could be worse, he could be in CGI.

Geico Cavemen- These are not funny at all!!! What's worse is that they're making a sitcom out of it.

i don't mind the burger king. but it would be creepy if i woke up and saw him in the dark. you know they spoofed him a couple years ago at the Halloween Horror Nights by haveing Willy Winka turn Anikin Skywalker into Darth Vader but instead turned him into the Burger King and Ronald Mcdonald came and started attacking him but then in the audience the Wendy's girl came with two guns and they all ran backstage.

BURGER KING.

I especially hate the one where he's in the man's bed. Wouldn't you be freaked out beyond reason if you saw him in your bed?!

The music is called "Powerhouse". And yes, they it used extensively in Warner Bros.' stable of cartoons. But no, it was not composed by Carl Stalling, it was composed by Raymond Scott.

Oh, yeah, I too have my dislikes. For instance, I'm just plain tired of Geico as a whole. I DESPISED those ones where they have terrible news for someone and then say, "But I do have some good news: I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico!" Man, if that doesn't scream selfishness, I don't know what does. Also I've become loathe of those Red Robin commercials, too, and also when ads for movies to be released play for a LONG time, even long after they've been released.

EDIT: I've just thought of that annoying bug repellent for dogs commercial. You know, the one where the dog sings, in that high, obnoxious voice, "There may be bugs on some of you mugs, but there ain't no bugs on me!"

Oh, yes! The Burger King "King" commercials are most certainly creepy. Now they've got that one promoting the Western Whopper, where everyone (women and dogs included), end up with those huge mustaches, and start stroking them.

The Nutrisystem commercials are my least favorite.
