Me too! The music on the website sounds pretty good, but I'm getting really anxious to hear the rest of the soundtrack.Prince Ali wrote: I can't wait for the Original Broadway Cast recording!

Very cool, I'm so excited to (someday) see this show. I just had a friend move it New York City - so hopefully next year I will be able to visit him and see this show on Broadway!L&E wrote:MEET TLM MUSICAL CAST!

I was wondering the same thing, it would be amazing if they did.tsom wrote:Thanks for the video. It's reallt awesome. Is Broadway.com doing the same video segments things for TLM like they did for the preparations for the Legally Blonde musical? I sure hope so!

I SO BADLY WANT TO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The cast seem real nice though - especially Sierra Bogess. I think she'll be a great Ariel. I can't wait to see what Ursula will be like - that seems to be the biggest difference between a movie and musical character in the show! Mary Poppins is closing in the UK next year - perhaps we'll get Little Mermaid as a replacement in a few years time.

Thanks Simba3
Yeah, I cannot wait to see how Ursula turns out. I can't picture Sherie, with the short butch Ursula cut

I think she will too, I just hope she sticks to the way Ariel sang. And not make it operatic, still scared about thatcandydog wrote:The cast seem real nice though - especially Sierra Bogess. AHH!! I really can't wait for the soundtrack too! Does anyone know when it is going to be released?
Good luck getting tickets this year for the show on Broadway. I went through Theater Direct International (broadway.com) to try and tickets for my organization here at school as a group. I tried ordering the tickets way back at the beginning of May and all group tickets are sold until the end of 2007!!! GAH, no fair!! The guy said that we could definitely do something for 2008, but it's too early to determine if we can with our budget. Hopefully I'll be able to see it in the spring.

I can't wait!
Three weeks today and I'll be leaving for the US (actually this time in 3 weeks I'll be in NYC!) and then 1 week later I'll be seeing TLM opening night! As if I wasn't excited enough that video has got me totally hyped up!
Kram I wouldn't expect the soundtrack until the show opens on Broadway (if I remember right the Tarzan CD was a few months after it started but that did debut on Broadway and only previewed for a few weeks). So it should probably be out for Christmas I would think.
Candydog, I'm not sure what's replacing Mary Poppins next year. When I saw it last year I was talking with some of the staff. I'm not sure how in the loop they really are but they said they had heard both Tarzan and TLM would be coming to the UK in the future but they didn't know when. I'd imagine Tarzan's most likely first as TLM's brand new, but I could be wrong. Or it may be something else completely. Does anyone know why Mary Poppins is closing anyway? It's only a few years old and I thought it was doing well. Glad I saw it when I did.

ChrisLyne, I'm banning you from this thread. Every time you're on it you make me so jealous!
I don't know if we will ever see Tarzan in the West End as it did quite badly on Broadway (it announced it's closure the other day and will close in less than two weeks). It's doing well in the Netherlands but I think after it's finished there it'll disappear for the forseeable future.
As for Mary Poppins - fear not! She isn't going for good! When the show closes next year it will embark on a national tour. I just hope that it doesn't do what Beauty and the Beast did in the UK and vanish after the tour ends. Personally I'd hoped it would stay around as long as Lion King has, which is still going strong. We still have some great shows in London though, so all isn't lost - and I hope your right about The Little Mermaid!

I agree with you about Sierra--she almost seems like a "real" Ariel to me (just in the way she talks, giggles and all), but I'm not doubting Sherie'll get Ursula. This video was the first time I'd see her before (I'm not up on popular musical stars, so...) and I thought she totally emanated Ursula's personality/aura.candydog wrote:The cast seem real nice though - especially Sierra Bogess. I'm just so glad that they chose Sierra over the [unexpectedly] popular Kerry Butler (who didn't seem like Ariel at all to me). I just can't wait to get the recording!

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

I can't put into words how upset I am! The whole point of going to New York was to see that show! I had tickets for 20th July (my birthday) and my girlfriend has even re-arrange jury service so we could go to NY before Denver so we could see Tarzan for my birthday. Now I just feel like I've wasted so much time and money as the trip would be far cheaper with just TLM and Denver.
Glad Mary Poppins is touring. I wouldn't worry about it fading away, Beauty and the Beast is still on every year (at least in Manchester and I believe in Liverpool and other cities too).
