I've never been to one of these places that you can trade movies to, but, I was wondering how much do you think a used, in fantastic shape, only played a few times, with all inserts and slipcover of The Incredibles cost? I have it in foolscreen, and I desperately need it in Widescreen. What do you think?
You could probably find one for ~$10 or so... Maybe even around 5 at a pawn shop or something...

You might look at your inserts, and if they aren't fullscreen specific (like the slipcover would be) I would keep 'em... Often, inserts, especially things like ads that aren't really related to the movie, get tossed.

Yes, and I have two words for you: Amazon.com, becasue there, you're the one majorly overpricing your DVD's! :D ;)

But yes, get them in WS asap. I think the only foolscreen DVD's I have left are the Back to the Future trilogy (hard to find in widescreen) and E.T. 20th Anniversary (out of print :( ).

Just a note, which I don't really know whether it applies to you or not, since I don't know which movies you want to replace: make sure you are able to get them in widescreen before you trade away the P&S versions, or you may end up with none. I personally, if unable to buy them the right way, would probably rather watch them in fullscreen that not watch them at all. But, of course, it's your choice.

Cheers

I took care of "The Incredibles." I now have the Widescreen version, just by doing a little switch with one of my neighbors. Their kid doesn't watch it, and it was in Widescreen. I do watch the film, I had it in Foolscreen. It's all taken care of. Thanks for the info littlefuzzy!

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm in sort of the same situation.

I have a few DVDs that I want to get rid of, and one that is a Fullscreen title. I was planning to head to FYE this week and preorder the Transformers Steelbook. Is there anyway I can check the trade-in values online, or does anyone know just how much on average they give for DVDs. All of my titles that I want to get rid of are pretty common. I would put the money toward the Steelbook, but if I only get like $1 or less per DVD I might sell them somewhere else...

Thanks ahead of time.

They told me that they wouldn't even take a DVD if it was worth less than $1, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. If you can, try and take them in during the week. I once tried to trade some in during the weekend and they told me to come back on Monday.

Also, be sure and tell them that you're trading in these discs because they're fullscreen versions. The employees were extremely rude to me until I told them that I was replacing the fullscreen copies for widescreen copies. After that, they practically worshiped the ground that I walked on. :P

Good luck! :D

They were rude because you brought in a fullscreen copy? ouch... I wasn't planning to replace this movie right now with a widescreen copy, but I was going to use the credit for the widescreen Transformers Steelbook.

Anyway I'll make sure to go during the week.
