Found these clips on YouTube the other day from the 1992 Oscar telecast featuring Beauty and the Beast and figure some might enjoy watching them again. But please not that they are from a Hungarian TV station but you can still pick up the original audio.
About 6:00 minutes into this Clip, Beauty and the Beast is performed along with a VERY weird dance for its Best Song nomination: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mv8V8ez6vG0
Unfortunetly I can only hear the Hungarian voices when they are speaking but I can hear bits of the original audio. Netherless the clips are interesting to say the least. Its a bit weird to some of the presenters. . . and winners. The preformance of "Beauty and the Beast" was indeed interesting. The scenery was very Beauty and the Beastish, maybe not for the ballroom scene but you could tell what movie I should be from. The dance though. . .well it looked like a three way cross between ballet, lyrical, and Dancing with the Stars. What was she wearing anyways? And the beast looked more like a monkey in human clothes. The singing was wonderful, of course. I just love Angela Lansbury!
Thanks so much for posting those, bennyb98! I really enjoyed watching them, especially the performance of "Beauty and the Beast." I liked that Angela Lansbury performed part of it, not just Celine and Peabo.
I really wished I could have heard Alan Menken's acceptance speech better behind the Hungarian voices, though.
