Least your bf isn't full on Harry Potter unless something big happends, like Deathly Hallows. I don't know any ACTUAL fans that'll breakdown some plotpoints. Kinda thought there might be another wizard sport, 'sides Wizard Chess and Quidditch, these characters are positively different from the past British Litature, (I.E Peter Pan, Chron. Of Narnia, Alice In Wonderland) the plots are outstonding and edgy too.

I suggest start rereading them now. Getting through one book takes a while.

Just got the Harry Potter PS3 game and it's fantastic. Hogwarts is absolutely massive. I've been playing for about 3 hours in total and I doubt I've explored 1/4 of the area available. And (on the PS3 at least) there's absolutely no loading when travelling at all.

Lots of other little things to recommend - on this game all the portraits move (and you can talk to the most important ones - often they give you quests), you can play chess (with animated Wizard's Chess pieces sort of like the old Battlechess game), navigation is easy thanks to the Maurauders' Map letting you lock onto any place or anybody, and it looks like Moaning Mrytle has loads of bonuses to unlock.

The framerate isn't exactly stunning, but there's a lot of detail on the graphics. I don't know if the 360 version is faster.

I got the PS3 version for the sixaxis support on the spellcasting, but to be honest its a bit rubbish - I just use the second joystick. Out of two games with sixaxis support, both are rubbish. I'm pretty much decided the motion detection on the sixaxis is rubbish.

Only one more week to go and we will know how everything ends.
How's everybody feeling? Excited? Sad? Can't wait sort of mood?

I can only say that I have waited for about 8 years for this to come out and at the same time I don't want it to end. I will read the entire series many times, but it'll never be the same again. The first reading of a new Harry Potter book was always special, and now that the seventh book is only 7 days away I kind of don't want it to end. The year-long waiting, the excitement before the release, the feeling when you enter Harry's world and unexpected things happen... This all was part of my youth and I don't know of ever something will be this big again for kids and teenagers in the world as Harry Potter was.
I am soo sosososo excited for the last book and can't wait to read it, but at the same time I am afraid of what might happen to our beloved characters, and wasn't the waiting always fun? I'll miss that.

Yeah, it's a real shame to see it end. I grew up with the Harry Potter books, as well. The really cool thing is that I am the same age as they are, so, you know, it was like I could really, really relate. It's going to be like the death of a good friend when the book ends. Does anyone else think that Harry is going to die? I, personally, think that Harry will defeat Voldemort, and then he himself will also die. I don't think she'll have good triumph over evil because that's so predictable, but I also don't think she'll have evil win, because that's just depressing. The only way to really make everyone 'happy' is to have them both die. I love Harry, but I really think he has to die. Hate me for it it you want, but I think he's destined to die.

Everyone has their own theories, so don't fret!

I'm going to get the book either midnight or that morning. I will be really happy when I finally finish the last book that is if no one spoils it for me. That's the only thing that's pressuring me right now. I'm free all Saturday to read, but Sunday I'm doing something with my youth group around town...where people will be talking about the book, so I am hoping to finish it on Saturday. I would love to go at a pace where I can take a break once in a while and enjoy my last few moments with Harry, but I really really can't take that chance in case anyone spoils it for me. It's not the same as someone spoiling a movie for you, this is the end of a 7 book series. So in conclusion, I am feeling stressed/pressured (and excited!)

WB confirmed with Mugglenet a while back that the release date is indeed November 21, 2008. Oh I hope it's enough time for them to make a good movie.

It should be. I mean, movies 3, 4, and 5 (all of which far surpassed movies 1 and 2 in my mind) were made in that amount of time. Who is saying it can't be done a fourth time?

If anyone is interested, I've just done my own review on GameSpot for the Wii version of this game (I'm DiscoJoy there for some reason).

I really enjoy it. The much talked about motion controls using the Wii-remote are possibly some of the most intuitive to date. Just as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess allowed players to literally take their sword and shield in hand, the Wii-mote acts as a wand.

As for the film, I also thought it was pretty fun, although I wish the leads would start to work on their acting.

It was actually a little underwhelming in parts, because the last two - directed by Alfonso Cuarón and Mike Newell respectively - were so good, this one felt like it was a backwards step. Despite being one of the longest books, it was one of the shortest films and I couldn't help but feeling it was a bit "rushed". Still lots of fun in the end...

According to the MovieVine Joseph Fiennes, Stuart Townsend, and Naomie Watts have been added to the cast of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

What does this mean? Well, I can assume that Naomie Watts will be playing Narcissa Malfoy. But I'm stuck on the other two.

It should be noted that Joseph Fiennes is the younger brother of Ralph Fiennes, who plays Lord Voldemort (clue?).

I'm still hoping for Bob Hoskins as Slughorn.
