Sleeping Beauty 2-Disc SE - What should I do?

Post by DisneyFreak5282 »

Almost 2 years ago I found the SE of Sleeping Beauty at GameStop for $14.99 without a slipcover, and the discs with light scratches.

On Saturday, I went to FYE and I found a used copy of SB for $24.99 WITH slipcover, used, FLAWLESS condition, and it probably had never been watched, only the shrinkwrap had been removed. So I bought that, and I was happy to find it.

I am considering trading in the one I got from GameStop - FYE will give me about $8 for it. What do you guys think? Should I trade it in (NOT the one I just got)? Or should I keep it?

Yeah cause I wasn't sure if I should keep the first one and maybe wait for an opportunity where it'll be worth more than $8. I am DEFINITLEY keeping the like-brand-new copy with slipcover, though.

Actually, to tell you the truth, I think I would hold off on buying it. $24 is a little steep for a movie that you do already own. PLUS, we just got confirmation that Sleeping Beauty would be arriving on Platinum Edition DVD/Blu Ray at the end of next year. I would hold out for that.

No, I already bought it when I saw it on Saturday, before I saw the confirmation of the 2008 release. So that's why I was asking - should I trade my old copy in or keep it for value?

I am in NO way trading in the copy I just got.

That's alright. I went crazy and burned a hole in my pocket on DVDs this past week, so basically the question should be - "what DVDs DIDN'T you buy?" :)

My advice would be make sure that both DVDs work, and then sell it on Amazon- the lowest price is $29.95. You'll make more than $8 that way!

I agree with blackcauldron85. You will make more than 8$ if you sell it on Amazon or eBay.

About a year and a half ago, I was trying to get the "Sleeping Beauty" Special Edition DVD at numerous stores such as Best Buy, Target, FYE and others, but they're all gone, but it's still out of print. Don't worry, I have the VHS tape under the "Masterpiece" banner and the widescreen version on VCD. The VHS "Masterpiece" version I have had a full screen format, other VHS copies had the widescreen one. It also had a bonus feature about the making of "Sleeping Beauty". It does have the 1990 Walt Disney Pictures logo on it at the beginning and end of the film. The ending had a short version of the logo as well. It had some previews for films and stuff like that. I'll go through the lists of some stuff that it was shown on my "Sleeping Beauty" VHS tape. YouTube had posted some previews and feature presentations bumpers taken from one of the Disney VHS tapes. Thanks to some members such as Logoboy95, Mjen1952 and others for putting those up. Systemoperator knows the previews shown on every VHS tape. Here they are:

1. Green FBI Screens
2. A montage of clips goes to the preview
3. "The Little Mermaid" Reissue
4. "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas" Preview
5. "Old Yeller" 40 Years Limited Edition Preview
6. "Alice in Wonderland" Preview
7. "The Jungle Book" Preview
8. "George of the Jungle" Preview
9. Disney's Magic Artist Ad
10. "The Wonderful World of Disney" Preview
11. "Stay Tuned After the Feature" Bumper
12. "Feature Presentation" Bumper (Everyone's favorite!!! I'll put this one on my podcast!)
13. "Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection" Logo
14. Creepy THX logo

That's all there is to it!

That's what I was gonna do, but I'm having problems with my eBay account, and I don't know how to sell it on Amazon...
