Wow, that intro was quite inspiring. These guys are truly the modern "Nine Old Men". You could tell from the superb animation and unique camera shots that Pixar is saving up something really special for this one, especially if it's the last of the original story ideas from the 90's.

What a crap trailer. I see Pixar have resorted to the "ooh look at us, look what we've done, aren't we great" method of trailers. a.k.a. the Dreamworks method. Couple that with a bit of nostalgic schmaltz and bad-a-bing!

Quite frankly that was a let down, and I pray to god that Wall-E is as different and radical as was promised and is nothing like the movies it was lumped with in the trailer.

Wow, could you be anymore negative? Seriously. This is a teaser trailer. It's not meant to reveal the whole story, but, to give a sneek peak at the character(s).

Pixar isn't "restorting" to anything. All of their teaser trailers, as well as full trailers since Toy Story, have mentioned at least a couple of the films that they have made. This is nothing new. It's not new to Pixar, and it's not new to any other company. In fact, you've completely missed the point in why that montage of films was even included in the beginning. It wasn't meant as a "look at us, we are great" type of thing. However, since you seem so negative about the whole thing, it's obvious that you won't see the point.

That teaser reminded me how much they as a company and we as an audience are going to continue missing Joe Ranft. He was a lot of the heart of these films. I wonder if he did any voice work on Ratatouille before he passed.

I'll see W*A*L*L*E next summer, but I'll be skipping the "Rat wants to be a cook" that hits theatres June 29 of this year.

Cool! This was a perfect teaser trailer. It wasn't supposed to give much away. Besides, Pixar's strongest marketing asset is their brand name and the quality reputation they have built up since 1995, and this plays to their strengths. It's a neat idea to have Stanton in there himself and clips rather than just the film's logos, and it's appropriately nastalgoic. I love nastalga (even though I'm not sure I know how to spell it.

) And the glimpse we did get is very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what Pixar does when they try sci-fi; other than the superpower angle of Incredibles, they haven't done that before (and even Incredibles doesn't feel really sci-fiish.) This should be very unique and I'm really excited. Plus, I LOVE the music in the trailer -- is that trailer music, an early part of the movie's score, or some song placement?

I think it was released today because it will be making its theatrical debut with Ratatouille's sneak preview shows tonight.

we don't really know if this was the last of it or not. it wouldn't surprise me if it wasnt. we just know it was the last one discussed at this particular lunch. and it took place in 94. you still have the other half of the 90s. I would think that leaves quite a bit of time for other ideas to have popped up. I think we'll be seeing the results of those ideas for years to come.

I thought Disney and Pixar signed a "permant" contract after the last one expired, so why would it be the last one?

I can't wait to learn more about it. The trailer for Ratatoille came out last summer, a year before the movie, which looks like WALL-E is doing, was a treaser trailer and everything but it showed a lot of the movie, to the fact I wish they hadn't released so much so early because its been a year of waiting and the same footage gets old. With this teaser trailer it just sorta shows that there's another movie coming up and I like that. I'm sure there will be more info and an actual theatrical trailer coming out around Christmas. I can't wait to learn more about it though.

At first I didn't think this film was reall going to appeal to me, but the trailer was really cute, and I especially love the way he saw "Wall E" at the end.

Decent teaser. Though this is Pixar, so that doesn't really surprise me. It gives you just a touch of what to expect, and makes you really want to know what the story is about.

well forgive me, but unlike Dreamworks, Pixar has a spotless legacy they can be proud of. And is well worth mentioning.

Well, I have to agree with Ichabod to a great extent. Regular readers here will know I was becoming disenchented with Pixar's films (but I'll admit I may have been wrong about Ratatouille which does actually appeal to me).

But I'm rendered almost speechless by that trailer/teaser/whatever. Nobody likes arrogance, and to me, that looks like arrogance. I'm all for blurb like "From the makers of Cars" or whatever.

But having people actually talking about a creative meeting and how great it was (and I'll argue about Finding Nemo being great until the cows come home) and thus, implicating this film will be wonderful too shows Pixar are loosing the plot and believing their own hype.

How many trailers/teasers have actually shown Steven Spielberg talking about his film(s)? None. And he's arguably the greatest filmmaker alive today.

And in addition, once again the Pixar crowd put their own promotion above Disney's in general.

If this was a huge break out trailer to target everyone to see the new pixar disney movie coming next month I'd have to say the intro goes too far, is over the top, and is way to bragging but its not. I mean the movies not coming out for another year and while the word choices to describe some of their movies aren't the best and can be seen a bit egotistical, it still draws you in and its simple enough not to over take the actual picture.

Disney has done the exact same thing 15 years ago. It worked then, no reason it shouldn't work now. The only reason some board members here seem to be so angry is because this time around it's Pixar affording the luxury of bragging.
