Current status of More Silly Symphonies replacement discs?
Hello there, I have tried searching this, but I could not find this information, what is the current status of the More Silly Symphonies replacement discs that were supposed to be sent out in March? Has anyone gotten these replacement discs?

It's just a little nit that's been picked, really. Replacement title cards were used on several shorts, even though they had the originals (or recreated the originals...)

Hmm ... you people are talking about 'non-original' title cards?
Well, my Region 2 Mickey Mouse in Living Colour Vol. 1 and Donald Duck Volume 1 contain loads of shorts without their original title cards, i.e. the re-issued ones with no title card, really. A good number of them simply have the short's title on a red background with notes.

There is a big difference. In the case of Silly Symphonies Disney actually did the work but then did not use the best work on the DVD. In the case of Wave 5 - Disney never did the work so they would be starting from scratch. Yes, you are right Wave 6 is much better than Wave 5 but the fix is much easier.Billy Moon wrote:Disney's official site only mentions the title card issue.
I think the shorts on Disney Rarities and Chronological Donald vol 2 were in much worse condition than the ones on More Silly Symphonies, but they didn't make replacements for those, did they?

The last time I spoke to Disney, which was just after Easter, the answer was that they didn't know when the discs would be ready, but when they were ready they'd be mailed out. Essentiall the message was "Watch your letter box".
If anyone who doesn't have to pay international rates to call the Customer Service line wants to ring them and see if anything's changed, go right ahead. If I call them again I'll have ended up spending as much on phone calls as I did on buying the damn set in the first place...

Hey, if anyone here gets the replacements, can they please post differences between the old disks and these replacements? New title cards? New transfers? etc.? I'm debating if it's worth it to get replacements...

I think that it will be the same process as the TLA DVD sets. Call in/e-mail Disney and you should receive a little package to send in the discs in. At least that's what I would think. I don't think you've missed the cut off date, I don't even think there is a cut off date. But since I don't know, you probably should take it with a grain of salt.EricMontreal22 wrote:I completely missed this--and even though I got the set when it came out ironically am only watching them literally this week.
What do we have to do to qualify for replacement discs--and have I missed the cut off date?

I received mine today. I didn't see anything in the package to send my old discs back in though... Anyone else have that problem?
Oh, and one question for anyone who may know. If we have problems with other Disney DVD discs, can we just call them up for replacements, or does it have to be something they've officially announced a replacement offer for? The reason I am wondering is because my Mickey Mouse in Living Color volume 2 has the audio out of sync on the Runaway Brain short. It seems most people haven't had that problem, but I have heard of a few others encountering it. I'm wondering if they would provide a replacement for a case like that. I also still need to get the other Legacy Collection DVDs that need replacements. The only one I've purchased so far is volume 3. Money is too tight right now, and that's the one I found the cheapest.
