I thik almost every movie deserves a "special edition", because 1) DVD offers these features, and releasing a movie on DVD without them seems almost redundant; 2) Somewhere along the line somebody but a lot of effort into the film and they deserve to have their story told.

*Steps off soapbox*

Now I've said that, the movies I would like to see most as SEs:
  • - Darby O'Gill (coming out in a few months in Australia, but barebones)
    - Song of the South - actually I'd just like to see it out on DVD. I was watching one of the supplements on the Treasures the other day (I think it was 'Disneyland USA' and they had a large clip from the film. It really deserves to be seen).
    - anything animated INCLUDING the DTVs - but especially Basil; Hunchback; Lilo & Stitch and anything unreleased or OOP
    - Surely Treasure Island deserves more?
I'm sure there are others, but these are the only ones I REALLY want off the top of my head....I'm sure I'll think of others later...

Oh, and Whattabout Dat Darn Cat? :)

I was shocked to see Treasure Island and Lilo & Stitch not get released this way originally. I thought those were shoe-ins for the '2 disc' treatment. Especially with how new they were.

So, in addition to those...I would like to see Hercules and Mulan released like that as well. In maybe a not so obvious one, how about reaching and saying Aristocats too. Hey, why not. I am also not mentioning the obvious ones that are already slated for Platinum consideration.

Song of the South really just needs to come out - its a simply charming film. This is ridiculous how long its taking just because of some tight-asses.

Besides that, I'd like 2-Disc SEs of:

So Dear to My Heart
Pinocchio
Dumbo
Mulan

Exactly, Joe. I would love to see all of them get this great treatment. But I better get a 2nd job if that is going to be the case!

Everything save the cheapquels (but 2-discers for The Lion King sequels are okay.)

Disney Special Edition

:headshake:

I think that it is really bad that they are not putting Gnome Mobile out on Special Edition.

I Mean The Cool Artwork

Is really cool. And it would be neat if they could use that artwork on a special edition version rather than a weesly widescreen no bonus features edition of the movie.

Probably more interesting than most other titles would be a grand special edition of The Black Cauldron with the true, complicated and painful story of its creation.

If the Black Cauldron had a restoration like the others it would have much better animation.
