I had said I figured there were some, but just demo tracks ala "The Little Mermaid". They're just not publicly available. I'm sure Alan Menken or Stephen Schwartz has them somewhere.

Der Glockner Von Notre Dame

Post by Disney Duster »

I downloaded the whole soundtrack from that site, but when I tried to open it my PC told me it couldn't find the program to run it and I had to look for one. I chose Windows Media Player and it couldn't play it. So...is there some program I'm missing?

But I'm planning on buying the soundtrack anyway. I know it's out of print, so should I try Amazon or eBay? How can I obtain a good copy of this CD? What do you recommend?

It appears to be a .RAR file. It's a compressed format, like .ZIP. You'll need a specific program, like WinRAR, to unzip it.

Oh, thank you! I'll resort to downloading that if I can't get the CD somehow.

I know this thread is old but I thought I'd give it a bump as I've finally found several videos on youtube which were recorded from the stage show. Many of them have been subtitled using the original English lyrics and script (http://home.alphalink.com.au/~paga/hunchback/index.html).

Here's the link for the subtitled videos;

http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?u ... rhorse&p=r

Here's Someday;

Finale Ultimo Parts 1+2;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3zhl2nUlpU

Sadly Someday isn't subtitled (but you can find the lyrics on the script site linked to above) but if you watch that and the Finale Ultimo videos you basically get to see the last 20mins of the show.

The music is fantastic, but actually seeing it I was amazed at just how powerful the ending was.

Before I saw this I was happy for Disney to change the ending back to the film ending, but seeing just how powerful the dark/sad ending makes this I wouldn't want them to change it.

And here's Esmeralda;

I searched for these after I first downloaded the soundtrack from this thread but I've only just found them (when searching for TLM's "Finale Ultimo" as I love the first Denver version and there are actually a few variantions on YouTube, all are different to the final CD) and thought I'd share them here in case anyone hadn't seen them.

There's loads more than I've just posted, some subtitled, some not, but the show looks fantastic and the scale is almost unbelievable. I hope this does come to Broadway in the next few years (still want Aladdin on Broadway as well).
