This is too frickin exciting ... It is finally coming ...
Here is the news from Watch with Kristen ...
Okay, either the mushrooms in my salad were spiked, or I just saw Sarah Jessica Parker on tonight's Entertainment Tonight announce that the Sex and the City movie is...wait for it, wait for it...a go!
Can you stand it? I do believe we may have just received the good news we SATC fans have been waiting for!
In the ET interview, in which our beloved fashion plate SJP talks about the launch of her clothing line (available tomorrow), she breaks the news that the Sex and the City movie will happen and that they're "finally ready."
Could this actually be happening? If so, who wants to celebrate by chugging a few cosmos and buying some Manolos we can't afford? Whee!
Yay! Thanks for sharing the news! I sure hope that this project is, in fact, moving forward. It's funny, because I was talking to my mom on the phone, last night, and she was saying how she wished they were still making new episodes of Sex and the City. My sister and I got her hooked on it, back when it was on HBO. We were shocked that she really got into it. When it ended, she seemed more upset than we did. I told my mom, last night, the only hope of seeing anymore Sex and the City was if they got around to making the movie. Now, I can call her and give her the good news!

I remember hearing for the longest time that Kim Catrell refused to do the movie. There were also many rumors that her and Sarah Jessica Parker didn't really get along so I wasn't sure if the movie would ever happen. That's cool that this movie might see the light of day after all. If the news is infact true, the movie will be wildly successful.
My mom and sister are huge fans of the show, so they'll be really excited to hear about this. I like what I've seen of the series, so I'll probably check out the film with my mom and/or sis when it's released. Even though my sister has all of the season sets, a friend of hers bought for her birthday the fancy book that contains all of the discs. Because of that, she's giving the season sets to my mom, which gives me the perfect opportunity to check out the show properly before I see the film. That way, I can get any nuances and references to events that happened in the show.
I'm really worried about this. SatC might be the only show I felt ended perfectly. I want to believe all five of them lived happily ever after, I don't want a movie to ruin that feeling. Then again, I know I can't not watch it. It's SatC!
I just hope they do the show justice.
Yay, a Sex movie! I love the series, I've actually only seen the first three seasons, but I have seen other episodes from the last three season and I do know what happens in the end. I wonder what the movie'll be about, I hope that they all reunite for a vacation to like Prague or somewhere, and all the families come along. I'd watch that. Any news on the storyline?

Well, I'm happy for the SatC fans, but I really don't care personally. I never got interested in the show, but I know many people who did and respect the show for what it added to television, much like I do for The Sopranos and Ugly Betty, two other shows with big followings that never appealed.
Yaaay! I love SatC! I have the complete series. I wish I had the new DVD book that Disneykid's sister has, though. The cases for the individual seasons are kinda flimsy and one of my covers is coming off.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing this. I, too, thought the series ended on a perfect note. So I'm actually surprised that they're doing a movie, but I'll be watching!
I might have started watching this series if it hadn't been for TBS's crap. They only showed it twice a week, proving they don't have a clue about what they've got when they've got it. And of course, they edited the heck out of it.
I don't know though. I watched about 3 episodes and I really liked what I saw. I might just buy the DVD boxset though. Don't know when.

TS is up for debate but Betty added NOTHING new to TV. All it has is a solid fan base at best.
I might just catch this when it comes out. I saw the odd episode every now and then and it seemed quite fun (though overly in-your-face at times).

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sarah has just said: "I'm not being cagey for once in saying it might happen. As far as I know all the actresses would love to be together again and do this movie."
"This is however a very complicated puzzle to put back," she says. "We have to replicate sets that are gone, re-create apartments and everybody has to feel good about why they're there."
And although Sarah Jessica hasn't seen a script yet, she feels positive about it. "I'm hopeful and very excited about the idea of it," she says.
Ah, forgot about all the sets and stuff, of course they'd need to rebuild it. Thanks for the info Rowlf, nice to know that they're trying to be positive about it.
